Tire size difference front/rear

Looking at some 19" wheels and tires(most likely 997 turbo wheels). The stock Pirelli's have a dia of 25.1" front and rear. For whatever reason the specs for all 19"dia tires I found on the TireRack web site show an aprox 1/2" dia. difference between front and rear. I am wondering if that could have adverse effect on the AWD system? Also what size rear tires are most of you using on your 19"? 30 aspect ratio or 25?

most 996's run 18" wheels for better track performance...you might pm Damon at the Tire Rack (board sponsor)....he will probably have info on proper tire profile for 19" wheels and how those wheels/tires will affect awd...it may also affect the abs system

search is your friend... has been discussed a few times already.

since it is the new year - 315/25/19 & 235/35/19 PS2s. IMHO I would only go with PS2s.

Also you could run these:
Continental ContiSportContact 3 Front: 235/40ZR19 Rear: 305/30ZR19
Yokohama ADVAN Sport Front: 235/40ZR19 Rear: 305/30ZR19

These are the sizes I am running on my HRE P40's, as I wanted a little more sidewall height for these horrible roads in Ohio and Michigan. Michelin does not offer the PS2 in a 235/40ZR19, so the sizes I listed would not work if you want PS2's. Hope this helps...I always like options.

Did you have to use any spacers with the 315/25/19? I beleive the overall with is 12" vrs 11" on the 305/25/19

315's fit fine on an 11 inch wheel however they come on 12 inch wheels on the GT2 I run 335's on the 12 inch wheel stock spacing and they still fit.
