Speed Tech Y Pipe 75mm

Following my experience with the Speed Tech Y Pipe in a Porsche GT2 Clubsport

First i test the original Y Pipe with 75mm Throttle Body and IPD Plenum. Only this has a good result. A little Problem was the original Y Pipe is to small and not in the center of the ipd splitter. (this make a little problem with air flow between right and left cylinder bank) This problem is only with using the 75mm Throttle Body, if the splitter need a good center of entrance in the middle.

So the Speed Tech Y Pipe with 75mm TB Outlet was the next point to do.

The Result is: This is the right way. The Engine sounds better now , throttle response is quicker , the boost comes quicker in low rpm and now it is possible to become boost only by playing with the throttle down. I feel more power and the banlanced air flow let the engine sound much better.

It is a little problem to test it in germany with 2WD at this time, corse the weather is to cold.

I hope this is interesting for the members of this Forum.
Thanks for the Postings i read in this Forum, very professional Members there

Thanks for posting your experience. Interesting issue with the off center y-pipe. Do you mean there is a mismatch of the stock Y-pipe with the 75mm TB, only in combination with the 75mm IPD plenum? A picture or diagram would be helpful.

Now post some photos of your GT2 clubsport!

for my understanding its only with 75mm Throttle Body. The problem is the different diameter from the silicone hose from y pipe to Throttlebody. And the original hose from porsche doesnt fit real good, maybe the carrera hose fits better

Greg at RSS sent me an upgrated silicone hose to replace the OEM which does not fit "perfect" with the 75 mm TB...this new one is very easy to install and superb fit.

I am evaluating the Speed Tech Y Pipe based to the fact that I have the IPD Plenum and 75mm bored TB, but the only problem is that I have the EVO IC that uses silicone hoses and I believe this Y pipe does not much (too short)....perhaps it should be a different version for this cases.

Hi Winni,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you are enjoying the SpeedTech Y-Pipe and that it is working so well for you. It's a great feeling for me to have one running around in Germany!

And thank you for the confidence to try our product on your clubsport GT2.

Best Regards,

John

Pierre,

The SpeedTech Y-Pipe is a perfect application for the Evo intercoolers, especially when mated to a 75mm TB and plenum. We sell a 2 1/2" diameter, 4-ply silicon hose kit (in choice of color) to bring the higher flow rate exiting the Evo Intercooler outlet to the higher flowing SpeedTech Y-Pipe and then right to the 75mm throttle body. This is a universal kit that can be made to fit all aftermarket intercoolers and is designed to eliminate the bottleneck caused by the smaller OEM silicon hoses and the even smaller restrictive fittings on the OEM hoses. Here is a picture that shows the Y-Pipe with 2 1/2" silicon hoses connected to custom intercoolers with larger outlets - this is how you would connect to the EVO IC's...and eliminate restictions

Here is an example of the difference in flow capability of the OEM hoses vs. the SpeedTech Kit. SpeedTech is on the left - OEM is on the right

2 1/2" Diameter Hose with no restrictions ---vs.--- OEM sized 2 1/4" hose w/ restrictions

Nice work, I've been saying this for so long, no one listening. Large Y pipe, large TB, and IPD plenum, this gives better throtle response, faster spool, and more air flow. Good job. Now let us know the times on the strip.
