I went for a great run today with my brother and another friend in their two Viper GTS' and my 996TT. What a beautiful day north of Houston in the twisties of Plantersville. We came across a c6. His plates read Lets Roll or something close. I let him play with the snakes for awhile. Then it was my turn. I rolled up next to him and he gave me the go-ahead. Well, I went ahead. After walking him pretty hard, I slowed to give him another chance. I thought he may have missed a gear. Instead of re-staging he decided to blast past while I was on my breaks. What a great day.

 

That is called the GM fly by.

 

Similar to the common "ricer" fly by?

Absolutely, for fun however since you have nearly 150 hp on me. I still bet it will be fairly close. In fact I will do as you did in 2008 and run you from a 40 punch.

 

Ok. I'll spot you 2 cars from a 40 roll. 40-160. How much you want to run for?

 

I estimate that if you get traction you should have about 3 lengths by 160. What tires you running? Street tires yes, DR no.

 

I bet you could take him Sean. That Z at the last 60/130 event couldn't even hook up. He had 800 at least.

 

If Jamie runs DR's and it is fairly warm he should hook. Tell you what, give me 2 lngths and we will go 60-135 for $200. I have run enough Vettes to know that hp for hp, if they can hook they are usually a bit faster than 996's.

Dennis used to run me pretty even in his old Vette w/ my old set up and he only dynoed 540. Vettes have a weight advantage. Jamie is spraying so he will make huge torque as well.

Yes, I'll be running 18" DR. 60-140 for whatever you want to run for....

 

You know I have to shift right before 140, you little ****er...135 and I have to be 2 full lengths ahead before you go...$200.

 

I shifted into 5th at 142 on 315 18" DR on my GT2, so you'll still be in third. I'll run you heads up from 60-140. I'll only spray my single plate kit to make it close. I'll be only shifting once too. I just talked to Patrick and will be running a milder cam as well. $200.
