alignment info needed

I have a 2003 996 tt that has H&R lowered springs.. was told its european height? I want to get my car realigned being I dont think it handles or rides so great... was thinking of bringing it to a shop that has the latest hunter alignment machine... being my car was lowered is the same as a non lowered car? can I tell them to set it up as a gt2 car? anyone have any advice for me & my car..

thank you

Boca, There is a ton of info on what works well for your setup... Do a search and you'll find lots of solid setup numbers...

Hi Mike. What is your street setup? You're on PSS9's right? Thanks for any and all advice.

I'd recommend shooting for something farely neutral for a street performance alignment. I'd find an indy shop that knows porsches... if you take the car to a regular shop that has no experience with Porsches, you will not get a good performance street alignment. I could rattle numbers off, but they won't mean anything because my car is much lower than yours.

I went stock gt2 numbers with a request to set up camber "to be nice to the rear tires" and the dealer (really, the local dealer) took care of it...really a nice mix and the dealer has the numbers in their computer....corner balance! Sure I could go lower, but it now makes all the gas stations just fine. Sounds silly until you go "crunch" ....save a dedicated track car, this is the way I chose for my world.

I have JIC 8/12's set 2 click harder than full soft and H&R sways front and rear with Agency Power front and rear drop links. The package came from Dan at Vivid and has been great on the street and at DE's. Could not be happier. Cup car guy felt is was really a super turbo and very "moton"ish...on a test drive. I can't say anything to that ...was unsolicited.

Mikelly did a huge, amazing thread on this stuff a while back. Search for it. You can do great things with PSS9/10 units too. I went JIC because of the plates and the pricing from Dan was very favorable at the time.

(almost a year later, it is still super..)

Good luck.

Jeff
