Need an aftermarket MAF quickly - anyone, private or vendors?
Need an aftermarket MAF quickly - anyone, private or vendors?
Hey guys, John @ Speedtech is where I would get one but he is out of stock temporarily til at least next week and I am taking a long road trip next Friday.
Anyone (private seller or dealer) have an aftermarket MAF for 996TT? I am not too keen on paying $400-500+ for a new Bosch unit....
thanks!

Do a search here...there was a thread a little while ago that someone found them for $150 or so...wasn't too long ago, month or two...I am not having trouble, but was gonna buy a couple just because...never did though...
I will keep trying to find it. Thanks. Thanks for the offer, Rich. I will keep that as a plan B option. I would hate to blow up your new unit though.... although that is unlikely as I am going back to the stock airbox and filter I think for now to see if that solves it. Will be selling my V-flow I think.
Is your MAF stock? Is MAF the metal tube thing? When SharkWerks switched mine to Hitachi, Alex gave me that piece. It is stock and you're welcome to borrow it.

I do have that aluminum insert thing that was updated from EVOMS that a fellow member was kind enough to send me, but I am not convinced that will do that trick after several other accts of it not solving the issues. It seems the most obvious fix is be done with the V-flow.
Thank you for the offer.
Yep, stock MAF. I know.. it's a bad formula.... 500+hp, stock MAF and the V-flow!

I know.... I almost jumped on that used one on here last week but decided to wait. It would require another flash and I am getting close to doing a turbo upgrade soon.... k24/18g or something similar.... just wanna knock it all out at once ya know?
I thought this was a boost or vacuum leak so I took it to my indy yesterday and he checked out the whole system and cleaned the MAF, but he recommends getting a new MAF after ruling out a leak somewhere.... and going back to stock airbox. It is running okay but still has idle surge like just this morning again and runny choppier than normal. It must be a bad MAF... or at least the next logical thing to replace.
