Boost problem?

Boost problem?

i just bought a 01 996tt and its bone stock . The Stock boost gauge is reading 0.5 bar. I want to know if this is normal. Thanks for your help in advance.

I am pretty sure stock boost is supposed to hit .7 bar...

disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. Then try again...
it should be peaking at least .7 bar maybe its in limp mode.

make sure the boost pressure sensor is connected properly. Right behind the plenum at the beginning of the y pipe on top of the motor. Happened to me once and wouldn't boost beyond .5 bar.

Which gear are you looking at the boost? Punch the car in second gear all the way to red line, if boost is lower than 0.7bar then do what Markski said.
