Good Buy?

Guys,

What do you think about this deal? Car is an 01 6sp w/ 23k miles. Wood interior package (passenger door flap needs to be replaced). Overall really clean, front bumper has touch up work on it and 1 wheel has some minor curb scuff. Dealer is willing to go $42k...thoughts.

Oh yeah car is seal grey/black

That car in "mint" condition with the same miles is probably worth $8-$10K more? If you can deal with it's imperfections and the PPi is good, seems like a great deal. Good Luck!!!

Thanks TT,

I appreciate the quick response...I was thinking about trying to get another 1k out of them and use that to have a painter friend of mine take of the bumper and respray it and get the replacement interior parts.

Only thing is I don't know if I am sold on the 6sp or not... it may sound like Blasphemy but I really like driving the tips as I hate driving in stop and go traffic with the manual.

BTW PPI was good and the car is at a dealer that is under the same mgmt group as the Porsche dealer and they pulled all the service records for it for me since I always had my Boxster serviced there. They also inspected in additon to the 3rd party indy p-car mechanic I had do it.

It is actually at a local dealer to me (only 996TT for sale around). They have it on ebay as well. The car is owned by the dealer GM and my sales guy said they would take an offer of 42k (tried to sell at auction a few weeks ago).

I am still thinking about the deal and may make an offer this pm as they are telling me it is going to auction again this week (who really knows)

If I decide not to make an offer I will PM you the info / sales contact.

throw $39.5k at them and see if it sticks...all they can say is no and maybe counter with something less than $42k. GL

Thanks for the feedback guys, I got it not for much under that # but enough to where I felt the deal was good.

Car has been inspected by the local p-car dealer and everything is good, rubber probably only has about 2k mi on them so almost new.

It's at home in the garage now I will take a few pics and post them up in another thread.

thanks again everyone who replied
