Phone options for PCM II

Is there a phone system from porsche for the PCM II system?

Any ideas on cost.

I already got the cost on the CD changer ($1600) and I am wondering if the phone system is available for purchase and is dealer (or shop) installable.

Thanks

you can install a handsfree cellport unit that has voice recognition. If you are installing on a 996, TechArt has a special mount that connects to the existing panel with perfect match. The installer should be able to mount the base unit into it without the need of a gooseneck

I want it integrated into the PCM (using its controls)

those phone buttons are for European models only. They won't work in the U.S. Our versions are configured for radio station pre-sets.

IC

Not sure why Porsche does not have this feature in the US. My mercedes has a similar keypad and it is used for station presets and the phone.

I have'nt read much about anyone succesfuly intergrating the controls. Other than an audio mute when the phone rings, I am not sure if there is another solution. I recall the euro version includes an attached handset. I was told by a PCNA rep that our phones ran on a different frequency or bandwith thus making incompatible.

Many models of MB are manufactured in the United States. I suppose this would allow the technology to work. I recall the PCNA rep also mentioning the liability they would have to face in the U.S. if an accident occured.
