I was on my way home late last night traveling down Westheimer (50 degrees) . A black GTR pulls up behind me kinda fast. I stop at the next red light with the GTR directly behind me. The light turns green and i accelerate into the next lane. I am in second gear cruising at 30mph. The GTR pulls up and we both coast at 30 for a few seconds. He gives me the nod and we both nailed the throttle. By the time i shift into third, the GTR is 1 1/2 cars behind me. I let off around 110. I easily put 2 cars on the GTR.

The GTR pulls up and says, "you must have some mods on that car". We pull over and I tell him about the my car.

Here are my mods:
-Softronic ECU Flash
-Milltek exhaust
-Agency Power Short shift kit
-Agency Power diverter valves
-Agency Power headers
-Agency Power dual snorkel air intake w/K&N filter

Well,it is not only a 996 with flash,exhaust and intake...We are talking about a P car with 500hp at these mods...So do not underestimate it...GTR can not beat the world...

 

I am new to the TT world so forgive my ignorance, but a K16 car with only those mods being able to beat the "Almighty" GTR is freaking awesome...

 

Yeah with those mods it should be able to pull on it a little bit.GTr is much heavier and has about the same hp. I have a flash only car and every time I race my buddy’s flashed/dp/exhaust BMW 335i …I pull only 2 car lengths …cant wait to destroy him with a 16 g turbo upgrade!

 

The GTR is very overestimated...It just can not beat a flash+exhaust+intake k16 996TT...And 996TT tranny wont brake!!!

Agree, but I heard that those cars are quite difficult to mod, at least for now. In addition, their gear box was made for like 0-100; the higher speed you go, you are better off.

 

Thing is some may mod but most wont for the mere fact that they will scared to death of anything happening to the car and as **** they are about warrantys especilay on the trany ... most will refrain .

on that note there is a local gtr with a good bit of boltons i thinbk he put down 500 awhp on a mustang dyno , and wants to run ... so as soon as the weather opens up i shall deleiver him an *** whooping.
