Tpms

I love having tire temp and pressure displayed - gives me peace of mind that I'm not unwittingly shredding a tire or have a slow leak :-)

As for Nigel at Orange - best to give him a phone call as email is not his forte !

The phone number is on the Orange website.

I found the Orange TPMS model P409S on Amazon for $139.00. I thought it was a pretty good deal since I couldn't take advantage of the group buy. Also, my son found an app for the iPhone/Touch which monitors these sensors so you don't have to install the included monitor. I have the center console plus a Kenwood some I'm sort of crowded for space there.

Are you all happy with the monitors? I noticed one says he loves his. I'm coming from an M6 which had it integrated into the I drive and it was a nuisance. I just would like the added insurance of knowing the tire's pressure.

Also, I noticed a balance vibration on my brand new PS2's on the HRE's P43's that I got last week already balanced. We have the new balancing system at our tire place so I could do both the install and road force balance at the same time. Thanks!

John

John are you saying it is possible to use the iphone as monitor and just buy the sensors and correct valves in order to get the tpms working?

Ciao JE

Had mine installed at the local America's tire. they had everything needed in stock to make it work with almost any wheel . Got a set on My Champion wheels and a set on my Stock Hollows

They actually strapped the sensors inside the champion wheels and had adapters to make them fit the non standard Champion wheel stems. The set on the champions reads 2 psi low (probably due to the adapters), but the readout is consistent and totally usable. Considering how easy it is to damage these expensive 25 series tires by running low (and it's not easily visible) this is cheap insurance.

No, Mr. C4, it doesn't use your I phone. I found out since that post that it's simply a store resource that let's you pick out model numbers and store data. It won't take the place of the monitor. Sorry. John

OK thanks John!

What is the final verdict on the valves, does the Orange TPMS fit the hollow spoke or not without modifications or do they require a special sensor and valve?

Go back a page. Yes, they have an alternative stem and I have used them now for several track days in OEM hollow spokes.

How does one go about getting the new alternate Valve stems for the hollow spoke wheels?

I see the system listed on Amazon but I see no options for different valve stems.

Has anyone ran into problem with these on the Hollows or are they all still performing well ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Has anyone tried these?
http://www.tpms.ca/PTSD4info.html

Nowhere as nice but alot easier to use and can be swapped between track wheels and street wheels easily (as well as other cars). I am not sure if there is a downside to these but I have to say these look to be alot more flexable and perform the same task.

Orange is sending me a sample valve stem to check out. They did not say that they had any other stems ...only what was in the standard kit. If there was a special stem then maybe they are still in development or the person that responded to me from Orange was not informed.
