Exclamation Pentosin leak up front - need advice

Had noticed a couple of drops of fluid just behind my left front wheel earlier this week, but since the fluid was colorless, I didn't pay too much attention to it.

Since the issue persisted, I decided to track it down and it seems to be like the front hydraulic reservoir has overflown. I opened the reservoir and it seemed to be filled to the top. Took some fluid out with a turkey baster and it's now between the min and max level.

Having said that, since some of the Pentosin made it down through what seems to be a drainage hose, how much damage could have been done to my wiring harnesses that are there up-front ? What should I clean it up with ?
I know that Pentosin can cause the car to go up in fire, but luckily it's been snowing in Atlanta this weekend .

I checked the level of the rear reservoir (fired up the car for 20 secs and then checked the levels). This one was normal.

About 2 months ago I changed my clutch accumulator and topped off the Pentosin. I must have overfilled it....

Thanks in advance for all advice on how to cope with this issue.

Keep a close eye on it. That was the beginning of my nightmare which resulted in two slaves, two accumulators and one damned throwout bearing. Be careful!

You got fluid migration from steering pump reservoir to clutch system reservoir.. The only possibility of fluid migration is within the clutch slave cylinder which is located on top of the transmission. Check you steering pump reservoir, it is low now...

996-314-166-00 accumulator: $145.61
996-116-237-52 slave cylinder: $444.25

If you get it done they should not charge you more than 3 hours of labor...

So let me summarize.
2 months ago I changed my accumulator. This fixed the 'stiff clutch' issue.
From what I understand from the above, the slave should also be replaced since it is causing fluid migration ?

Can I still drive the car (it is my daily driver, and the Ducati will not respond well to our current weather conditions) ?

Yes you can drive it. Just don't forget to transfer manually the fluid back to the steering reservoir before it overfilled the clutch reservoir. That's what I did for more than 2 months... I used a 50cc syringe...

Make sure you check out Suncoast. The slave was under $300 through them and there is a $10 o-ring they said was needed as well. I have it sitting in my closet waiting for the weather to get slightly warmer to change mine out.

"current weather conditions"... I have about 8 inches of snow down on my property right now and I've been out playing on the dirtbike... Great way to sharpen those bike handling skills BTW!!!
It's probably due to being over-filled... You want to keep an eye on it up there... It's not as much of a fire hazard, but still... Keep an eye on it.

Iceyankee-Tsi is infamous around these parts
Yves:

Just to reinforce what previously said. I passed by the same experience recently and had to replace the slave cylinder. Since my accumulator was shot, I also did that one. I didn't found it complicated to replace, however you need to have some patience and be careful. Good luck!!!
