Interior conversion to full race car
Tom, I know this build isn't working out for you as you'd hoped, and it will be way over weight and just all wrong for your needs, So I've decided to take you up on your offer
and come down with my trailer and pick it up in two weeks, when it's all buttoned up...
I want to free up that space for you to get your cup car!
Just call me Mr. Helper!
That thing is gonna be amazing!

17 hours total job.
the wiring harnesses will be put back in place now. then the fire suppression
the car is capable of a "DE" seat but I really dont see much use for it at this point.
the car is booked to race 5 events to finish out the year and there will be no DEing for her at this point. kinda like taking a Cup car to a DE?

13 hrs of paint prep, 4 hours of priming, painting and clearcoat. We were there from 8:30a.m. till 1:00 a.m. It's all downhill from here! We're very excited to see Tom at the track for the first time in May. It will be a very proud moment for the crew of Vortex.

I'm going to try and and make it down for that first race in May to see Tom kick some butt. I'll crew or whatever is needed (including test driving
). Will take some pics and vids from the exterior as well if I can get down there.

Al you are capable of driving the car yourself let me know when you want to.
only requirement (other than me trusting you) to drive this car is you need to be under 160 pounds to fit into the Recaro race seat!!
opted for this over the Sparco

No pressure man, I am only coming in support and to help if I can. As far as I'm concerned we are all working together to show what our TT's can do on track. Now if the day comes that we are racing against each other, even will be more fun than pressure.
[quote=tom kerr;2343224]Well Tom, Don't think I'll fit. I've been eating way too much ice cream for the last several months. Tnx for the offer. It's amusing to me that I've done all these things to get weight off the car and then add 10 lbs to myself.
Where is your left foot going to pivot from? My first thought is on the diamond plate, but from the photo's it looks like it might get hung up on the shelf. I'm sure you have it figured out. Just being nosy.
Thanks for sharing. I'm just imagining the first smile, once you get in that pig and run a nice lap. The loss in weight and rigidity is going to be great.
If you are looking for a new sponsor, you might check with Cialis. As stiff as that thing is and the color are perfect marketing.
