Coil pack location?

Guys,

Been doing some hw on coil packs as they seem to be one of the "maintainance" items to keep in mind.

Can anyone post where they are (or pics if available) so I can take a look at the boots?

Starting to make sure all is in order for Spring time!

Thanks!

Those are deep on the 996TT. Pretty much follow the spark plug change DIY and they are the last thing you take off to get to the plugs.

So to get to them, you will have to take off the rear bumper cover, tail lights, rear fender liner, intercoolers, and some heat sheilds. Then, you can see them...

I would wait until you are due for plugs, then inspect them as you have them off.

Hmm, there's no way to get to them before removing all those items? I believe my plugs only have like 1-2K on them...

I just figure it may be a good idea to inspect them, and make sure they are "clicked" all the way in.

You shouldnt need to check them unless you are having ignition issues such as a misfire or something. If you are hitting on all cylinders, then you are ok - just check them next plug change...

K, good to know guys. Car has about 30K on her so miles wise, not high, but rubber tends to crack with age. I'll look into it but so far, she runs great.

My car has a little less than 40k and I just did plugs and the coil packs looked great.
