Dynojet Results.. questions

I have a '01 996TT w/ Remus exhaust and EVO diverter valves. I purchased the car w/ the above items and was also told it had a Gemballa tuned ECU.. which I never verified. My car hits .8 bar.. occasionally.9bar on my dash.

Looking at the graph, my boost wacko. I had them tap into the T off the wastegates for the reading. I then had them connect a manual boost controller to the same spot to see if the readings were accurate w/ the Dynojet.. and they were.

So.. whats up with this graph? Is my car boosting at .8 or .9 like my dash says? Is it boosting at a measly 7lbs.. (roughly .3 or .4bar) like the dynojet and manual controller says. If so.., does that mean I have some hidden mods done to the car that I'm unaware of to get these high numbers? Or...

The graph is not the judgement. On the Mustang dyno we have smoothing parameters that can change the graph to look like that. If your car is flashed, you should actually be seeing 1.0bar. .7 and .8 bar is what a normal K16 turbo puts down. DynoJets read very high as well. A stock K16 car on our dyno baselines at 340awhp. With a ECU Flash by Softronic, exhaust, diverter valves, and intake, we see about 420awhp.

If you feel your car is misfiring, change the plugs to a 1 step colder. I would also invest in a new flash and see a load of difference.

Seattle,

You may want to check out your diverter valves. My dyno before I got my K16g showed waves like that and the DV's were bad.

I forgot to mention that this is rwhp. I'm just curious about the boost spikes. Could it be a Gemballa ECU doing that?

Although certainly no answer to your issue, I just wanted you to know that I'm local to you and also have a Gemballa re-flash. However, I just bought the car last week so don't have a good feeling for how much boost it runs, nor have I ever dynoed it. But, if you'd like to make some comparisons to another Gemballa re-flashed car, I might be available for that. Good luck with your diagnosis of the issue.

Steve.. good to know. I'm probably going back next week for another run on the dyno. You should try to make it if your interested. I'd be very curious to see if its the Gemballa giving me such high numbers..

Can you give me details as to the location, timing, etc? Also, is it an AWD dyno or are you dynoing with the front driveshaft disconnected? Feel free to PM me if you want. Thanks.

Thanks Tony.. I'll keep that in mind! My question is in regards to the power vs boost that I'm showing. Thats high #'s for 7lbs of boost. What is that, like .3bar? As Edwin mentioned, could it be the DV's? Or is it merely a ECU tune issue if I do have Gemballa as I was told back in the day?

Ok.... so the boost spikes in the DYNO are due to us reading the boost off of the wastegate vacuum lines. At least thats what I'm told.. That sounds right, right?
