Even if you don't have leaks, you probably have air in the hydraulic system. I think you need to flush the hydraulics.

Steve,

Try spraying some WD-40 on the piston, and then try to run it up and down a couple of times manually. If that doesn;t work, I'll send you the instructions from the manual on how to bleed the spoiler.

thanks fast have tried the wd 40 thing and have the bleeding instructions, when the wing is in the up position i can pull it up but it retracts to the halway position as though the fluid level is low . if i understand correctly it can but refilled from the center pump located next to the fan. guess thats next thanks for your ideas steve

Steve -

The trouble is, that fluid went somewhere. Which means that you probably have a leak. If so, you should maybe try disassembling the pump and cleaning, then check the seals before refilling. There's a thread here somewhere where I showed some pics of how to disassemble the unit. It's basically a very large double syringe - looks a lot like a double tube of epoxy, with the plugers driven by an electric motor and a worm gear.

I've attached a couple of files extracted from the manual.

Good luck.
