SWAY on Boost - Need your help

OK, so I have a somewhat modded 996 TT. The usual suspects e.g turbos, DV, exhaust etc. Here is my question. When you punch it, say rolling from 30+mph on up, the car feels like the read end is a little uneasy. Hard to explain - almost like i was spinning the tires in terms of movement - sort of s side to side thing. It is very subtle but a little unnerving. Car is lowered bit nothing else done to suspension. It is the type of thing that when you are going straight, it's carches you off guard..can't imagine (nor would i try) the feeling getting on it coming out of a turn. A real bummer since Im hesistant to push it in any other place but highway. Work on the car was done by Champion in FLA as well as PES in NJ and it is pushing 650+. Both tell me that it's normal but I can make things better with coil-overs. Any recommendations? I'm sure this is not an isolated case as may of you guys / girls are playing with as much, if not more, HP. Thanks in advance.

Stock suspension bites, period. My car is MORE than a handful at speed. I am in need of new suspension too, just can't do it now. High speed corners, forget it, car is all over the road. If I hit a bump in that high speed corner, I'm crappin my pants. I'm done until I get some new coilovers.

I would upgrade to coils and wider rear tires.
I would go with PSS9's or 10's for coils.

Check alignment. If rear is toe out, it will do exactly what you are describing. A little toe in is always appropriate for the rear, not necessarily so for the front. For straight-line acceleration with that amount of power, proper alignment is all that is needed.

i know enough to be dangerous but toe out means the rear looks like this /o o\ right? if so, my tt is definitely in that category..so much so i have not see many like that. And that is the way it came back from a full alignment from dealer / motorsport so they know what they are doing..i hope.

I had the same problem with stock suspension with somewhat stage II setup. The car jumped a little to the right so I really had to pay attention when boost. The problem was fixed after installing PSS10s.

Can't. Some do that with lowering kits but some say there are handling problems with this setup. Most people go with coilovers to improve performance.

I am the poster child for trying to get away cheap. I installed EIBACH's which brought the car down about an inch and all was fine until I put on the new turbos. Stock just aint cut out for that much power. Thanks to all for your great advice. The PSS10's seem to be the fix. I'll keep you posted. If anyone interested in a group buy, or can recommend a great price, I am all ears. Just a quick google search looks ike this mod is 2600-3300 not including labor, Sound about right?

My car was a little dicey around corners at WOT too until I got the PSS10s and H&R sway bars done. Huge difference. Still can't get shaky and a little hoppy if the road isn't perfect, so caution is still much needed!

Anyone with 500+hp needs suspension work on these cars. I was very unimpressed with the stock stuff!
