need help- another slave/accumulator problem
Clutch was stiff in the morning, so clutch slave and accumulator were replaced, which fixed the problem. 2 months later, the clutch pedal had different engagement points, there was a hissing sound coming from the front in the morning, and there was leakage from the front resevoir. Clutch slave was replaced again, which fixed the problem. 3 weeks later, leakage from the front resevoir, but clutch was normal. Rear hydaulic resevoir was replaced, which fixed the problem. Now, 3 weeks later, again there's leakage of fluid from the front left resevoir, but the clutch still feels fine. My car has been great up until now, but this is really aggrevating me.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem could be and what i should do next? The work thus far has been done by a very reputable indy porsche shop.
thanks

I got the evoms gt2 hydraulic mod...haven't looked back. The pressure is more, but pedal feel is superior. And, no more problems.....
Much has been said about it. Search and contact evoms. I have nothing to do with them. But, it is a nice thing and I am happy with it. Very.

You may have a power steering related issue that is causing the pressure to build up in the slave and overcoming the unit with to much pressure. You could also have an indy who isn't tightening the accumulator down properly, or hasn't properly bled the system. Also, do a check yourself to see if the system has been over-filled...
START the car COLD and let it run for exactly 25 seconds. Cut it off and check the level of fluid in the power steering reservoir. It should be at the COLD full mark. If it is over-filled you will have this issue. This simple procedure is in your owners manual.
Remember, the power streering and Clutch Hydraulics are tied together. And I'm going to revise my previous stance on swapping to the EVOMS gt2 clutch slave... For most guys, if you can get this "stuff" to work, I'd stick with it until you need a clutch job.. Then do the EVOMS swap...But replacing a slave or an accumulator should only be 3 hours labor, should cost about $600-700 to do (Parts cost on both items should be somewhere less than $400) and "should" last you a while...
Doing the Evoms Hydraulic upgrade is going to cost you at minimum $2K. That's a huge difference there in price and time for the car to be down... You're essentially paying for them to do a clutch job, without replacing the clutch...
We've been quick about complaining about this "stuff", but it was pointed out to me by a couple guys who have the pentosin based systems that theirs works just fine with many many miles put on them...
Hoping my recent "fix" will last a while, as I don't "need" a clutch. I also don't want to have to drop my trans, botch the job and start breaking TO bearings and bearing forks.

Seems like the OP has the same problem, and new parts don't fix it for long. I think that the seals in the slave that stop intermix of pentosin front to rear are failing either by one of two reasons....
1) Something is pinching off the return line from tne slave to the PS resevoir. Either the metal line got partially flattened during some service, or it's pinched. This could cause an overboost at the slave.
2) Something in the PS pump has failed and metallic particles that haven't been flushed are damaging the new parts.
MikeK is right about the Hydro conversion. Do it with the motor/or at least tranny out is best as it's not a super simple job....

From what I could find out, the slave cyclinder actually has some check valves in it. If you over-fill the system with fluid, especially in the rear compartment where the PS reservoir is, you will have issues.
I just got back from a round trip 35-40 mile drive and mine is working like new...

Thanks for the replies. i checked the PS reservoir and it's not overfilled (too bad). Anyone else have any other ideas?
The question is what to do next. Should the Power steering pump be replaced, lines replaced, slave replaced again? Seems like a wild goose hunt (and a time consuming/expensive one).
thanks
