Will H&R springs drop the car low enough

Yes, I know "low enough" is subjective and different for every party. I would love to buy a great coilover setup for the car, but dont want to drop the coin at this point. All the decent coilovers that I have found are very expensive (feel free to make a suggestion if you recommend a set that is reasonably priced)! I was told by a friend that H&R springs are the lowest drop you can get from springs alone and I can get them very cheap.

Is anyone running just the springs on stock shocks? ANy pros/cons? Regrets? Also, pictures of the new ride height would be very appreciated!

thank you so much

i was very happy with the ride height with my H&R, it was just perfect. In fact, i took measurmenet of the ride height before i put my coilovers on and adjusted them at the same height my springs were.

by the way, my H&R coils are now for sale

for our 996, i believe our H&R's lowered it about 1.5 inches. we're happy with the ride height. it took a few weeks to settle all the way though once we had them installed. there are pictures in my profile of the car, or under "blk996todd"'s profile as well.

best wishes!

^^i'm not sure if the TT would be the same as the C2. The ride itself isn't too bad. i personally don't mind the change. We have low profile tires on it and we have 19's, so it's a little stiff, but by all means, not uncomfortable. It feels like a track car verses a cruiser now. lol!

They drop the car 1.25" and that much looks great in my opinion. I am on stock shocks too by the way. For me the ride is fine, handles great on the street and track (I know, they aren't Motons), but good enough for me. If I wasn't planning on one day having a dedicated track car I think I'd likely change to coil-overs though. Remember the install cost is close to the same whether you go coil-overs vs springs too. If you aren't thinking of taking the car to a competitive level on the track and you want to save some money then I'd recommend the H&R springs for sure.. For pics click on My Garage.

thanks a ton! I was hearing from some that the ride is VERY bouncy with the springs alone and because of the close install costs of the springs vs. coilovers, I am considering just going with the C/Os

^^too bad you didn't live closer, i'd let you take ours out for a spin to see what you think of the ride! ours isn't that bouncy at all. it's tight, but not to where you say"wow...i should just use this on the track". My hubby uses his as his DD and loves the feel of the ride.

I agree, I wouldn't say too bouncy either. On regular good roads and the track they are find, on a road that bounces the crap out of the car it maybe has a tad more noticeable bounce than the stock ride. Not sure how much different from coilovers though. My only coil-over comparison with very similar car (996TT) was to PSS9's, at the track, and really no big difference there.

I think before you decide you ought to try and get a ride in a couple of cars with those options. If you go the coil over route do your research.

That sounds like an offer worth taking up, at least to try the ride out!
