GT2 vs 996 tt X50 (2001,2004)

Just want to know the difference from a 996 x50 and a GT2.(2001 to 2005). I was told that the X50 option would bring the motor to GT2 specifications/ HP.
For the large price difference, what are the benifits/ advantages with the GT2. Is it substantially lighter, different trans.....or what.

I have seen several of both out in the marketplace. Any input helpful.

Didn't the GT2 have PCCB? The seats were racing seats -

GT2 will definitely be a collector's car. 996TT not as much.

GT2 seats in the US = Turbo Sport Seats.

I will say that ANY old, low mileage, clean Turbo Porsche is expensive. We're just at the low part of the curve for the 996.

Judging by the price trends of 997TT, the value of used 996TT has nowhere to go but down.
When 997TT are dropping into the 80s and possibly 70s, that is a major force that will cause 996TT to depreciate even further.

Thanks for the info. So, possibly different trans, 2WD, different software... How could it be lighter, just deleting the 4WD?. Once again, i think the motors are now equal with intercollers, turbos, software.. Anyone know for shure?

Significant differences that should matter come in the Tranny (there is an oil heat exchanger) and in the suspension (altered pickup points, coil overs and control arms are adjustable), along with the rear wheel drive.

There are other differences as well, but to me, these are the most important.
