Extra high GT2 wing?
Extra high GT2 wing?
anyone seen this before. looks like a typical GT2 decklid with a wing that is easily 4 inches higher than std? Also the front nose splitter is different on this GT2?

the front has a lip added on it. dont know about the rear.
ive seen the lips sold on ebay (or one that looks identical to it). the ebay seller quoted me $350 but it looks like it severely limits the clearance of the front end.
i scrape the plastic one on my car all the time.

Already have a GT2 front bumper??? our EVO lip is available for $350.- (this lip alone is $1150.- from Germany!!) getting this bumper with lip you are saving thousands!!!!!
Wonder if it is high enough to partially obscure the rear view. With higher wings that becomes a problem and to correct the issue the uprights need to be long enough to get the wing above the view line of the mirror.
looks like it would be, it is probably near the GT3 cup car wing spec height, well out there in the air stream. To bad they didn't raise the air intakes to match

The wing looks good, IMO.
If I recall, my 97 Esprit had a wing that was right smack in the middle of the window...not a big wing fan. Actually considering disabling my wing...pull fuse? Has anyone done this? Any downside? I know Porsche put it there for a reason...

No, but the 9.5 second quarter mile 9ff car his nearly 160 mph and it had no wing at all, it looked like a carrera4 rear end on it. Probably for better aerodynamics. So these cars are pretty stable at high speeds. I am sure the big difference in Cd between the Turbo and the GT2 is in part due to the rear wing of the GT2.
You can always get a larger wing and just have it sit low on the deck without rising. Should give more downforce than the stocker but not raise up at all. I have one that I put on my car but didn't like the way it looked when it went up. so I took it off. but you may like it.
No...no, I won't like it. I like my factory wing...when it's down..I want to make it stay down all the time... To be honest, I know this sounds crazy, but I don't do 195mph a lot, so I'm thinking I won't be missing out on anything and would have LESS drag.
very true. if you are going to do that, then see if you can figure out a way to remove the entire hydraulic assembly and keep the wing down. I am planning on removing my assembly eventually but I just got it replaced under warranty.
Anyway, here is the video of the 9ff car but it looks like the rear decklid is positioned up, kinda weird, I would imagine this is for cooling.
