Phantom PSM/ABS "failure"

Getting both lights, saying "PSM and ABS Failure".

However, no codes exist! disconnected battery, no luck - still gettting PSM/ABS failure. Tripled checked, no codes being thrown?

runs perfect, no issues.

what is the deal?

if it was an accidental psm/abs and you disconnected the battery...when you get back in and start the car it may not clear the psm/abs until you start driving...if you just start the motor and don't drive the light will stay on...

thanks Abdullah - did you 'not' have any codes? that is what is throwing me off. I dont have 'any' codes, according to the autozone scan tool.

Have you messed with the connector to you MAF at all? If the connection is bad, you'll get the PSM and ABS Failure.

I have now, after the fact. I took the MAF out and cleaned it (spray) with MAF / electronics cleaner. I also checked connection wires, connector, etc - as best i could. hot wires all look perfect, but without a real scan tool i dont have a good way to scan.

is there really no 'real' way to diagnose? Just start buying MAF and wheel sensors and swapping? There must be a better way?

I'm not a Porsche mechanic, but I have had a similar problem and it was due to me not getting the connector back on the MAF securely. I've also had a CEL come up because I wasn't paying attention and did not get a boost hose back in place 'securely' and I was leaking air a bit.

Also had a random CEL come up right after installing a new exhaust. I knew everything was correct, so I disconnected the battery for a half hour or so, hooked it back up and have not thrown a code since.

Just sayin...
