suspension clearance question

OK... I had Pss9 installed in my car.. its sitting as low as my car did with H & R springs.. was told all is level on both sides, BUT i have less clearance between my tire and fender on my drivers side rear of the car then on my passenger side.. can the car have more weight on that side..? and yes no one is sitting in the car.. lol So over bad bumps my drivers tire has rubbed my inner rear fender already with just me in the car.. passenger side fine ..again more clearance... I know I can bring up the drivers side with an adjustment on the coilovers but I'm just wondering if its just my car or do others sit lower on the drivers side then passengers side.. thanks

When I had the pss10's done, they measured the height to the fender at every corner of the car, as it varies on every car. Then they installed the pss10's GT2 spec height. Perfect, no rub, everything feels great and if I wanted to, I could lower it a considerable amount more, easily another 20 mm.

porscheralph is infamous around these parts
Hey Prche951 - I am having PSS10 installed on my 05 TT-S in a few weeks and was wondering what setting (0-10) you are using and front and rears and how you like it? Also are you experiencing any front spoiler clearances issues at your current ride height?

I am on setting 5 front and back, but I may go a little softer in back to get some more oversteer. The pss10's feel great. They really soak up the hits well. My low ride seems just fine, but I have the turbo nose, which is a little higher than the GT2 nose or Techart nose. I am sure it will be more of a problem if I ever go to one of these other two noses.

You really can't measure by the fenders gang... If you look at my DIY Sticky on suspension made simple, it refers to where the manual specifies to measure from on the chassis. When a corner balance is done, you will have a variance in fender clearance from corner to corner.

It's why it's called "corner" balance... Each corner will be balanced as needed to more evenly distribute the weight on that corner, and in doing so, moving the ride height up and down by a small margain.

Boca, is it "this low"?

That was with MAJOR negative camber front and rear and MPSCs on the car.

This is with an aggressive street alignment and Pilot Sport Ribs...

Mike

looks like your second photo, my car does not have corner balance, I have been told by my shop I dont need it... I only drive on the street... I just want my car to be level, and not have my rear tire rubbing on my inner fender lol I will have to have them bring that corner up its almost 1/4" lower then the passenger side.. by measuring them the same way to the fender lip

There's an article on the PCA website on springs and suspension (I believe it was from Panorama).
I understand for optimal spring compression ect you measure within the chassis. As many of us are also concerned with the aesthetics, they included a table with heights to the fender lip (averaged over a few cars I believe). For the GT2 they listed off 25 1/4" to the lip & the US TT as 26 1/4".

I'm having KWV3's installed next week. I've asked them to aim for height adjustment and corner balance to achieve about 1" lower at the fenders from where they are now. Mine are pretty high now, 26 1/2 - 26 3/4" depending on the corner (I'm on 19" 315/ 25s).
Maybe this is an impractical request Mike?

so is mine. measuring the height at each corner prior to replacing suspension will tell you how it was factory balanced. if you replace and keep each corner at the same difference, then the factory balancing will remain. Corner balancing is good if you can do it, if not measuring before and after and maintaining the differences corner to corner will work.

It will depend on the offset of your wheels. You may well need to have the fenders rolled on that combo...I don't have any issues with fender to tire interference.

Not if you use a heat gun to soften the clear coat/paint...
