996 turbo vs e92 m3
When you see an E92 M3 on the road you know you will pass it...how fast could it be?but when you see 996TT...you do not know the result...In Athens there is not even one stock 996TT...and probably even 997TT...
Warranty...
Thus far, the warranty has saved me around $3000 in repair costs in the year that I've had the car, so I definitely want to keep it in force.
I suppose I could do the mods that I've listed in my signature without voiding it. There would be a slight problem with the law enforcement folks, however.
While I'd love to mod my car, the aftermarket warranty would be likely voided if I did. Hence I've held off - probably will mod when the warranty expires.

I agree, if you did not mess with the rev limiter (potential ignition counts), and just put a higher flowing exhaust on the car + flash, you can always switch the exhaust back if a disaster happened (engine/tranny faliure).
On topic, I like the turbo platforms much better than N/A, and will more than likely never buy another N/A sports car.

I have had the top aftermarket warranty for my modded car. Has saved me about 2k so far. Not once did anyone question me about my mods. Basically a k24/18g looks just like a k24 car..
Unless they want to drive the car and check the boost.
But anyway who cares...all i can say you guys are missing out big if you havent modded yet. Its just simply night and day.
And you must be dreaming if you think aftermarket warranty would pay for a blown motor or transmission (even when fully stock). I highly doubt that! all other parts in this car can be fixed under 10k tops.
They will try their best to deny a 30 k motor or a 10k trans by all means.

Very comarable cars, but the TT is faster while the M3 may be a bit funner to drive do to it's high revving NA nature. The M3 from what I've heard is like the rest of the M's and likes to throttle steer easily while the 996 TT is the opposite, massive understeer.
The TT has much greater potential stock and with mods, but out of the box the M3 is probably a more fulfilling car. But for the money, the TT knocks the M3 down a notch.

where in chicago are you at? I can show you what a stock 996tt will do to the new M3..How do i know ? I raced my friends car when i was stock several times. In fact my tuned 335i pulled like 2 cars every single time.
I do agree with Heavychevy...its a more rewarding car to drive out of the box. Just want to give the credit where its due.

Other than mine being an X50 its BONE stock. If I end up keeping it, then that will change!
I guess i could live with an X50. That's like a flashed k16 car. Its a slippery slope and wont last long. Looks like you have both the great cars..care to comment about performance of both cars??

I'm sure they will question it, but to imply that they will deny it in MOST of the cases is simply inaccurate. Correct me if i am reading you wrong.
I know several people that had their engines replaced under aftermarket warranty, including two that were a 996 C2 car and a E46 M3.
