Can a mercedes c63 amg with 450hp run with a stock 996 turbo?

 

Doubt it, mercedes is pretty heavy isn't it?

 

if it has a Renntech package your in trouble!

 

The weight of the C63 will show more on a road course.

 

I have run against one. My car was a bit faster, but I was only able to take a car lenght from 50 to 140mph.
My car is a Stage 2, and the Benz was with a chip and exhaust!!

When i was 480hp (flash) i raced one...i was faster by two to three car lenghts...we raced from 100km to 290km...mercedes was stock

 

You might be a bit faster but don't underestimate them. Especially from a dig, they can launch pretty hard with a decent driver... If you don't want to launch your 6speed too hard, then watch out. From a roll, it's a different story and the faster you go, the farther you should pull...

 

Yeah what he said... lol I agree, they are pretty fast, but it also depends on the driver aswell. You'll be fine, just be be cautious and safe.

 

doubt you will win. I hate to say it. BUt I sell these suckers and drive them everyday. You would have to be chip'd and him absolutely stock. They may be heavy but mercedes have amazing launch capabilities and pretty much any dummy can do it. If you are good even better. Where as the 996tt, lil trickier if you want a good launch. Equal drivers, i hate, HATE to say it but, its not lookin good for 996tt.sigh...

 

I think what I'm seeing here is that you will have a hard time beating one off the line, but you shoudn't have a problem from a roll.

Stock vs Stock it'd be a pretty good race in the 1/4.

Maybe close enough that the win would be more based on the driver than the cars.

 

Just found this too from Edmunds:

C63: 1/4 mile: 12.5 @ 113.7 mph

996 TT X-50: 1/4 mile 12.58 @ 118.1

So yeah, it would be close.

SO, here's what you do...
Get er flashed my brother!! put some DV's, exhasut, a y-pipe from proto, plenum, TB, fuel pump, intercoolers, boost controller, clutch, coilovers, some injectors, some custom intake pipes, and when you race give him a 3 mile start, and you will still blast past him!! lol
