Any 996TT owners out there with alcantara wrapped steering wheels?

I have a few questions for you if you do. I currently have a leather/carbon wheel in mine (the factory option one) and I really dislike the feel of the carbon fiber. I'm a big fan of the alcantara material, and want to know the following things about them, particularly for those who have switched to them from a leather or leather/carbon wheel.

1. How is the material holding up over time?
2. Do you have the factory Porsche style or an aftermarket wrap?
3. Does the wheel look out of place to you?
4. Could anyone PM me with a place which offers these, particularly if there are any bundle deals with steering wheel, e-brake, and shift ****?

If you have any pictures of these items installed in a 996TT, I'd also sure like to see them. Thanks!

I've heard good things about dallassteeringwheel.com here on these boards for a recover. I believe TXGold sold one awhile ago that looked nice, I think pics are still up in the parts forum a page or two back.

I had mine recovered by Dallas Custom Steering Wheel. First class craftsmanship and customer service. Price also very reasonable. I highly recommend them. They also plump up the wheel which is very nice, and I had a top band put in for an accent.

I tried to upload pictures but they failed.

This is a great upgrade. Only thing is, now I wear my driving gloves whenever I drive because I want to keep it clean, but that's cool with me.

I don't have one for my 996, but I did have on on my old e46 330--it was great while it was new, but it did get worn down in the 4 years I had the car...The areas where I gripped the wheel most frequently ended up feeling sticky The nice thing was, even in the Florida sun, the wheel was never too hot to touch

I don't know how BMW's alcantara quality relates to the Porsche wheels, but just thought I'd share my experiences

GT3 RS Wheel/Shift Boot

My car has an Alcantara wheel and shift boot that came from Porsche. They are available from Suncoast.

I believe they were made for the Euro GT3 RS. The e-brake boot is also available, but is a bit pricey.

I have been pleased with the Alcantara finish. The wheel grips especially well with my Sparco X Pro gloves.
