I have tried many exhausts on my GT2 and I could never find one that didn't have a drone. All the exhausts from custom built to europipe that I tried had a drone even though every single one I was sold I was told, oh this one doesn't have any drone you'll love it! I would recommend riding in a car with the exhaust you want before buying the exhaust. In my case I actually put the stock exhaust back on after several dissapointing results, not to mention a lot of wasted money!

I don't have a GT2 but a 996TT with the Europipe exhaust and it doesn't drone.

Go with a "Crossover" design exhaust, more of an exotic sound. I just bought a GMG Racing WC-GT Exhaust, I will post some nice pictures this week... It is just unbelievable..

you should check out the clip on youtube, it sounds awesome and its not expensive compared to the others out there
I have come to the conclusion that any exhaust setup....whether it be Europipe or slightly less expensive iterations....they all have a bit of drone at certain rpms under certain load conditions. Although they are advertised as drone-free....you'll find that there's going to be one spot where you get a bit of it. Most of the exhausts advertised as drone-free will exhibit a slight drone usually at some point in the rpm band that you dont drive in very much...but it'll be there.
My RUF 590 exhaust setup is unreal sounding, only other that came close in sound is the GMG WC that 930man had on his.... Mechanical great sound, not just a loud blatting sound with turbo whistle like most others!
