Replaced lights to LEDS
might i also add that since you have the headlight out at one time, getting all of the lights.
i converted the headlights to 6k's, the bulb is a d2s - 6000k lumens

the turn signals i converted to chrome tipped bulbs to eliminate the amber while not in use, bulb type is 1156

and the driving lights have already been discussed...
happy lighting!

its 6000 kelvin, not lumens
Probably about 2400 lumens.
I ran these in the Evo

the 5,800k, I loved them on a silver car.

Great thread
2 tidbits.....as I did most of this a while back also.....996 is nice because I don't recall it has any of the 'bulb out' indicator function that came with 997 (at least I don't rememberany any).....but they definately are on 997.2.....so on that car you are wiring load balancing resisters, here, there, etc......(same w/M.Benz even back to 2000).
And...that little city light in the main head lamp is key to better (not incandecent) appearence of that whole unit (regardless of whether you are running 6Ks D2s or not).....I tried many bulbs before finally finding the BAP9s WHp9.....they are the ticket.

Avoid resistors! they heat up like mad. Hoen have resistorless LED's in license plate and 164 fitment that work on porsche, benz etc.
You also have Brex (Japan) who also offer the same (exact) ones they say but a bit pricey.
yes, the city lights are buggers, without upgrading that it makes the entire lens look terrible.

I have ordered all bulbs required in LED as well as 6000K HID upgrades. I will replace ALL exterior & interior lighting. Some came in today and the rest is on the way. Engine/trunk, remainder of interior(doors & map lights), license plate, reverse lights, front & rear side markers, parking lights. The front/rear turn signals will be chrome-coated replacements (no more egg yolk) & the high beams will be 100W upgrades. I also replaced the foglamps with "super white" bulbs. Here are a couple pics from what came in today:

All complete. All my LEDs were installed before I left for S. FL. When I get back and the car is out of the season I will get pics. Every interior lamp including glovebox has been changed to LED. Exterior sidemarkers front/rear, reverse lamps, license plate, parking lights all LED. I decided to leave the 4 brake/running lights until I experiment and find a quality bulb that fills the lens like the reverse bulbs. They look amazing!

Expensive? bright? Dim? what up? I want to swap all mine but man it's confusing as to what goes where. Will take this plunge soon though since finding a few of mine are toast up front.
