Replaced lights to LEDS
It's very easy. Just pop out the bulbs to check type of let me know. Ive replaced them ALL so I know what type goes where.
I used some Narrow White 1156-W24 5.50 for my Bottom parking lights. Now I just need to decide if I should switch to the LEDs for the other four parking lights
.
What do you guys think - will it look better with all cool/blue led bulbs? or does the yellow fog mess it all up anyhow?
I have some Hoen whites for 997 fogs, will they fit the 996 version?

I just replaced my daytime running lights (the small bulb next to each HID) with BA9s led bulbs.
The stock-equivalent bulbs were some outrageous price at the local auto store. A pair of the LEDs (at a local shop that sells LEDs) cost less than 1 of the stock-equivalents.
Someone had asked if the pins on the BA9s (which are opposite each other at sort of a "9 and 3 o'clock" position) will be compatible with the socket, which is expecting a sort of "10 and 2 o'clock" off-set. I can say that I just crammed it in an twisted and they fit fine. No need to dremel off one of the pins.
No more yellow-ish day-time running lights.

the turn signal bulbs are all 1156 equivalent...
the rear tail/brake needs the 1157 dual filament equivalent....
i didn't change the reverse and side markers 'cause the are always ON and doesn't really benefit from changing to an LED....
however, on the front assembly, the parking light should be changed to an LED bulb...makes it whiter, not halogen yellowish...

I have recently changed all my interior lights (2005 997.1) to LEDs and yes they are super bright. Dome light stays off unless I need it but the map lights stay on.
On the side markers and parking lights, they do stay on for 1-2 minutes after the car is parked and turn off. They stay on but very dim. No problem as the power consumption is negligible.
I do however get messages on the dash for each one of them to have them checked. Not an issue but getting to be a pain to clear the messages every time I start the car.
Need to look into resistor load or a module. Maybe a PIWIS can fix this… not sure....this is my first Porsche after 20 year of saving

And yes, the parking lights in LED white are an awesome match to the BI-Xenon headlights!

any error lights with the sidemarkers or at all?
also can you tell me which one you used for the sidemarkers or if is even listed on this specific link? cant seem to find "WLED-WHP9-T"

Regardless of the LED light you try and install you will get an error light unless it comes with a resistor load or module of some type. The car doesn’t detect the proper amperage on the light and produces an error…at least it does on my 2005 977.1. I can’t say for sure for a 996.
Using resistors is not a problem if the heat is properly contained. It does however defeat the purpose of saving power consumption… but sure looks nice!
Does anyone know if PIWIS coding can remove these errors?

I posted a thread a few years ago on both here and rennlist with my city lights. Correct size is Bax9s as I believe others have pointed out. Difficult to source but can be found here for reasonable prices: http://store.42draftdesigns.com/High...-LED_p_40.html
I have. When they get here (hopefully monday) I'll let you know how they work out. 3 extra bulbs than my current SMD BAX9 units.
They are H6W/BAX9s bulbs. superlumination.com has them. Ihttp://superlumination.com/otherleds.htm. I drove the 996tt today and will get some shots later of new running lights.
