Thanks to Vivid....New Clutchmasters Stage 3 review
So after I smoked my OEM clutch at the dragstrip 1 month ago, I had Vivid suggest a Clutchmasters stage 3 to put my 550 Hp or so to the road. Ive been breaking it in slowly the past couple weeks. Had it out at Mid-Ohio for a DE on Friday, but my instructor(thankfully) kept me in line and I really did not have too many opportunities to hammer the throttle.
Until last night. The clutch is finally starting to shift smoothly from 1st to 2nd(after 200-300 miles). 1st gear can still be rough. Slow throttle application from a stop is dicey and takes practice still. This clutch definetely prefers aggressive driving. I got into it hard out of first and the car twisted sideways. Never done that before on warm dry tires. Wow. Hit rev limiter so fast, huge bang from exhaust. Oops.
Anyway, I hope it lasts. Thanks to VIVID and staff was helpful and prompt. Even cut me a small extra discount

Yep same clutch we discussed. It is the "Fiber Tough" material on one side which is like Kevlar but less abrasive to the flywheel and a steel backing on the other side. Remember that Clutch Masters uses OEM Sachs pressure plate and clutch disk that is beefed up by them. All of their kits also include the Porsche OEM throw out bearing. This is the same kit I run in my 997 Turbo.

I have been running the Clutch Masters Stage III for about 16 months now. I believe mine is kevlar. Engaging the clutch is a pain in the *** for someone who is not used to it, but the thing grabs like crazy! After almost 2 years of beating on it, its just starting to soften up a tad bit haha
