Pic Request: Seal Gray TT with Black Turbo Twists
Please post up any pics with either a flat or a polished finish, and let me know if you powdercoated or painted them. Any comments about durability of either will be much appreciated. Do I have to worry about the temperature that they are cured at, like those who have cracked mono-blocks? These are regular OEM hollows. Thanks.

We have had NO durability issues and have been coating wheels for many years for our customers and other wheel manufacturers...
Whether you choose paint or powder, a long as your shop is experienced - you should not have any issues...

I just spraypainted my center caps. easy enough to touch up if you scratch them...
With the plastic centercaps, we typically paint to match the powder coated wheel.
gloss black wheels
here is a lousey pic of my gloss black wheels. The insides are painted flat black to help hide the brake dust while the outsides are a gloss black with clear coat. I have them repainted every couple of years to recover the scratches, and nicks from the track.
Thanks, guys. Michael, do you think you'd need to repaint them if you didn't track the car? I'm assuming that powdercoat is more durable than pain, but I really like the gloss look of paint.

You will want a guaranty from the powder coater that their bake temp will not weaken your wheels. This may have been the cause of a recent broken wheel, on another thread in this forum.
Seth, you can have your wheels Powder Coated in Gloss Black as well if that's what you like - you are not limited to paint only. Many coaters around the country should have no problem delivering the gloss look for you. We do it here as well, but most requests are for matte and satin black...
gloss black paint
I don't worry about wheels--My painter only charges me $30 a wheel to paint and clear coat. I keep them waxed, but they still develope chips from driving fast...who on this forum doesn't drive fast? I heard that the heat from powder coating can weaken the wheels...but I don't know that to be fact. I just like my painter and the results they provide.
