Upgraded Turbos vs Upgraded Intercoolers

Ok lots has been said about the GT1 K16/24 hybrids, but vs an ECU tuned K16 it doesn't sound like they move mountains, unless you want BIG HP, and do lots of other mods so is upgrading intercoolers $ better spent at my level ??

If I don't want 600 HP plus, I have;Upsolute stage 2 ECU tune, DV's, Waste Gate Actuators, Sports Exhaust with 100 cell race cats, BMC air filter. In Europe on 98 Gas I see 1.3 Bar everyday !

k 16's wont give 600 plus .they run out of steam really fast ... so kinda pointless to do intercoolers with them.. i would get bigger turbos(18g/k24s)and good tune, then upgrade intercoolers.

No question you will get more bang for the buck with upgraded turbos and ECU to go with it...I wouldn't even consider ICs unless you are in a really hot climate and are over 650+hp and/or track the car...

You have stock K16 and you run at 1.3 bar ? That seems a bit to much,because with OEM K16 I'm sure your intake temperatures are very high. 98 RON is the same like 95 RON so it's not race gas.
And you should also check air fuel ratio because with the Upsolute flash I would bet you are running to lean at 1.3 bar.

Like Dixie said Richard... 1.3bar is a bit high for 98Ron.

Are you seeing 1.3 constant or is it occasionally spiking to 1.3... still on the danger level

You don't need intercoolers. They are nice for big hp cars but at our level they are not a neccessity. If you track your car or run it hard for 20-30 minutes non stop in high temps then they are not a bad idea but you will not feel much if any difference. All they do is keep your car making the power it already does without as fast heatsoak. By the way, a 16/24 car with good tune will walk a stage 2 car pretty hard. buy you some turbos but make SURE you get a tune to match. Your next step from where you are is not going to be cheap. at least 2500-3500 bucks and that is shopping around. You will like the power. Good luck.

lol i agree with TT boost..spinning waaaay beyond their capacity.

Thanks for the advice !, I also spoke with Kevin, he suggested get some Durametric results, So I ordered one today to look at the numbers
