Painting lowers
Painting lowers
I was thinking about painting the lowers and can't figure out if the bottom of the rear bumper (black stuff) can be removed. I'd prefer to take the pieces to the shop rather than taking the car to the shop...and I don't want to remove the rear bumper if I don't have to.
Any help would be apprec.

Please provide some info , would love to do this myself.
this is what i did
clean area thoroughly
sand using 800 grit wet and dry
clean again
mask off using blue painters tape, stuff newspaper into grills and mask off thoroughly
prime using 'bulldog primer' google it, you can buy it online
3 coats of color matched spray paint, light coats are better, you dont want drips, buy online or have body shop can some for you.
2 coats of clear coat spray, dont mist it on lightly, make sure it looks wet to get a nice gloss, dont put too much on though, once it looks smooth and wet stop and let dry.
its really not hard, just take you time and make sure everything is well masked off, worse case you take it to a body shop and have them re-spray it for you

thank you mr bravo
liquidcooled - i dont have better pics but unless you look very closely you cant tell they were painted by a 1st timer, make sure you follow the instructions and you'll be fine, worse case scenario you get them re-sprayed by a shop and waste the 20 bucks in paint you bought when you tried to do it yourself
