Straight pipe 996 turbo? Anybody try?
I wonder why as well, because, the car I am buying has the Europipe Stage 2 LOUD and is a TIP.
This works on the TT
For the CEL: Not sure if A/F sensor spacers work on the 996T but I seen in other applications and used on my exige 240s. Basically it moves the second sensor farther away from the exhaust flow creating the same effect on the sensor as having a cat.
just a guess with the straight pipe, off the line street driving would be less responsive but displacement is reasonably sized, so might not make a big difference. Not as loud as NA but still reasonably loud, enough for a cop to look twice and render the stock audio useless.

Hi Have a set of Fabspeed Racing CATS and muffler bypass pipes on my GT2. It is loud at anything more than 20% throttle, as in conversations are difficult above that point, but at idle it is very quiet. My car is a DD.
...
It definitely beats listening to the girlfriend yabber on about why some brand I have never heard of is better than all the other competing brands.

Interesting you guys running them without issues make me want an afternoon project, I was thinking of only removing the mufflers and keeping the cats (we have lame emissions testing here) Get some tubing and making my own zoomies.
I feel your pain!, But its an easy on and off thing if its for the testing!
