Yeah, they are kinda on/off ' ish. Trying to get progressive boost onset is difficult especially exiting slower corners. In that aspect it will never be like a high reving NA car, but there is certainly room for improvement. My tuning combined with straight pipes took off some torque so it is more bearable, but the spool is still too slow sometimes. This isn't a major issue to me, I just see room for significant improvement so I'm looking into it.

My ideal setup is quick spooling lesser torque with 8k rpm but I can't seem to get anyone to answer if that can be done with stock internals. 8k rpm IS THE REAL DEAL!!!

It's a huge difference, I had K24's and the programming was not suited to track work at all... you would get through the corner trying to find the sweet spot and it was either on or off boost... need something that's going to pick up boost but not overly aggressive. A K16 wheel is the way to go or something that will spool quick and retain smooth progressive power (linear line)

I agree, which is why I'm leaning towards the billet K16's. Not that I want to max them out. I will only be requiring 550 awhp tops. But I want the quickest spool and coolest air charge possible over time. Whatever nets that result is priority.

The billet 16's sound fantastic and it's the programming that are making these work so good... do you have to go the EPL route with tuning or can you purchase separately? (not that there is anything wrong with Tony's work)

You can get them separately, but I'm not sure who I'd rather tune it than Tony to be honest with you. I haven't tried any tuners here as my car was tuned when I got it. Going with another tuner and it would likely be their first timing tuning these Turbos. I don't like that idea.

Plus I like the flexibility of Tony's programs.

Dez, have you tried going BACK to a full exhaust on the track? Todd (vividracingtx) noticed a big improvement in spool and performance when he removed his straight pipes and went BACK to his Miltek. He can tell you about it...He couldn't even brake boost with the straight pipes. After he put the Miltek back on...brake boosting like mad...

I'm going to the track this weekend to see the performance gains of removing my straight pipes and re-installing the Miltek.

Actually I was going to try it once but I had some screws that heat welded on so I said screw it. I ended up selling the PSI exhaust so I don't even have that option any more. Thinking about Markski's exhaust that is almost as light as the SP's but retains some backpressure which is what I've heard is assumed to be the problem with the straight pipes as almost everyone reports loss of low end torque and a little hp up top.
