some early mile results
SubscribeHere is my take on the day. The car of the day in my opinion is Ben, he has done more with less. Fact. Tom and I are at 202 and 200 respectively. We are having some issues that we hope to work on tomorrow. Our cars are about a second and a half quicker to 186mph, 300K than Bens car but we are not pulling. Tom is doing much better than I since he is holding much more consistent boost. those are the facts. The rough 0-186 times for evoms cars is as such Tom 21.7 KPG 21.03 GT2 18.8 Joe 14.3.... Joe has cut 1.5 seconds off his previous best time.... Rough trap speeds at the mile are Joe in the low 150s, GT2 147, Tom and I 140....
As far as my car goes, my friend Tom really has me covered. Even though our peak numbers were about the same he had roughly 40-50 HP in the midrange over me and it shows very clearly at the mile. That is just the facts...see you tomorrow
BTW, it is a tad windy

KPG, I think it's insane that someone didn't have better since than to call it off. Lot's of highly intelligent, successful people running around down there and this "you're a *****" attitude is exactly why everyone was running, and someone is gonna get killed. Life isn't about a 12" ruler.
On a side note, it was an interesting day with timing and scoring
...Apparently, silver cars are invisible to the laser beams. At the drivers meeting in the morning they told us it was a rarity and that sometimes a run would be a " no time". The last mile had 1200 runs and 4 no times according to the tech people. Well, I ran 8 times and was invisible 5 consecutive times. I had the pbox to show me my time, but that doesnt mean much without the official slip. Ben was invisible several times as well. They invited me out to run some test runs at lunch and I was a no time at speeds from 140 down to as low as 40 mph! I kept driving by the VividTX trailer and Todd would give me the thumbs up and I kept giving him the thumbs down. I guess the day before at the Ford GT rally they said there was one GT that got a time once but it never registered again... strange stuff. Just some gps numbers were goofing around with ...Joe's 50-70 time was .8 sec

Hopefully the wind dies down out there. I prob. won't be out there until about 12 in the afternoon

Ya'll be careful. I got the **** scared out of me reading half way down the first page that Joey G spun out not knowing the full details. I'd hate for there to be avatars with this weekends date typed over them. Originally Posted by KPG

It wasnt the ideal day thats for sure. I just feel bad for Joe, he put a lot of time, effort and money in to getting the car ready for the mile and will only get two runs...its a shame. At least from the little data we did get from the runs the car is substantially quicker than before but Joe will have to wait for another day to fully stretch its legs.... Besides, he can wipe down my car and Tom's nowOriginally Posted by TXGold

I was at the event in Miami last week and let me tell you, it is no joke going fast even when there wasn't any wind in miami. I wish you guys the best of luck.
The Supras really do seem to have the perfect gearing, power, and aero for the mile...I'm still wishing for one of the porsche cars to take down SW but it might be a long shot.

Going fast is not to be treated to lightly in any circumstance and kudos to all those running the tarmac dyno.
Run where your comfortable and let no other agenda influence you.
