Best and easiest route - 550 to 600 to the wheels.

Current setup:

K16/16G Turbos, DVs, 5 bar fuel mod, EPL 1.2 bar tune on 93. Keep in mind, I will be adding an intake and exhaust soon.

Interested in getting to 550 to 600 to the wheels if done on a Mustang Dyno.

Question is, do I stick to current turbos after additional mods noted above and a re-tune or go with a different turbo setup.

24/18, or TiAl Alpha 30s?

Cheers,
Allen Morrison

K24/20's will get you close to 600 on pump and 650+ on race fuel.

Ben, with my turbos (GT 30's) and probably yours as well, there is a 35 rwhp diff for every .1 bar. Thus a car that makes 680 on race gas at 1.5 will only make 540 on pump at 1.1.

Where does the boost come on with the 30's, where does it reach peak boost? I really want to do an upgrade, but I keep hearing that most of these turbos are all about top end.. I track my Cars and so need good boost early on in the rev range (to get me out of corners that are in the 3000 rpm range), but need that boost to hold until 6500 rpm.. My GT2 comes with stock K24's and I have been thinking of an 18G upgrade.. With all these different options, it's really hard to come to a solid conclusion on which Turbos to use and I'm getting frustrated because everyone thinks their setup is the best...

I'm hoping for an expert who has set their Car up for 550-600RWHP who regularly tracks their Car at places like Laguna, Thunderhill, Sears or similar Racetracks to chime in with a solid recommendation for which turbos will suit my car...

The 28's offer excellent spool up with enough air to hit over 600 on pump.

Where in the rev range do they start working? Where do they hit full boost? Where do they run out of steam/choke if at all? What supporting mods are needed? I need my setup to run on crappy California 91 octane for daily driving and I can always get 101 - 110 octane at the track. Also MUST pass CA emission.. P.M. me a quote for an affordable setup if you have the time please.

Thanks for the response..

I'm firmly believe that 18g's are the best turbo for your needs. They will be great on the track and easy on the wallet.

Seems like a downgrade of my Turbos though??? Shouldn't I wait until you guys have a K24 upgrade?

Of course our Billet K24's should do even more but if you are looking for instant spool and great power and torque these are your guys!

Eric
Because it's a pristine GT2 at present, I want to stick as closely to the original components as possible.. Let me know when you get the billet K24's done and tested... Thanks...
