1st - 4th gear seem okay, but if I'm cruising in 5th or 6th gear and I floor it...the rpms shoot up from 2500-4000 and the car doesn't go anywhere. I've never heard of a clutch slip in only 2 gears. Any idea what this is?

Jags...have a link?
Wross, it has Ultimate Motorwerks ECU Tune, lowered and the car has been on a diet. Slightly lighter than stock.

Weird, there were special clutches in TX recently that only slipped in the low gears, not the high(full load) gears... Gearing is in your favor in the lower gears, 4-6 put lots on load on the plate and disc.
Yup. If you keep driving it (boosting it really), it will start to slip in 3rd and 4th too. If you continue to drive it still, it will start to slip in all gears... If you drive it and never boost it, it will last quite a while.

I lost a clutch in the past couple years (on another turbocharged vehicle) and it behaved exactly as you described. At first it was only evident if I got into boost in 5th or 6th gears on a slight incline. Eventually it became easier to slip and the clutch needed replacement. As others mentioned, you can nurse it for quite some time if you avoid boost...but what fun is that?
