My mind was just elsewhere today and I poured 5 oz Castrol 5-30 GTX organic oil (for my G35) in my 996tt today before I came to my senses - should I change the oil?, I figure about 5oz Organic + 224oz (7 qts Syn) are in it now (about 2.5%). The syn oil has 1100 miles on it, it was idling at the time (naturally, otherwise I could just drain the tank...), so I just parked it in the Garage.

I am mainly concerned about the high temperature coking inside the turbos and the impurities in the organic oil - the syn is very clean and tolerates very high temps compared to organic.

Ummm - I guess my point was that I don't want the inside of my engine to look like a 70's and 80's turbo engine.

What I was really hoping to accomplish with this post was to hear from a member that is familiar with whether Mobil One in fact has some organic components in it or whether blow-by and other contaminants are in fact worse than 2.5% organic oil content, therefore a waste of time changing.

Porsche specified syn for a reason in this car.

cause synthetic is a better oil holds heat better lubricates better you could still run organic in this car and it would survive perform worse? probably but i think your fine with a tiny bit of that oil mixed in, and if your so worried you could drain it but its probably not gonna change anything,

I think the car is ruined. You will learn by this tragic mistake after you give me your car. Due to this your are sentenced to only drive a Ford Escort.
Seriously...even if you dumped in a quart they will be no loss of protection or damage to your engine. I wouldn't even give this a second thought.

When Porsche converted to Mobil 1 from conventional i spoke with a Mobil1 engineer about this issue specifically. The jist of the conversation was that the two oils will mix just fine and the result of mixing conventional oil with full mobile 1 synth is that the lubricity and overall protective properties of the Mobil1 will be reduced by the conventional in a ratio proportional to the amount mixed. That said, the amount that you added is so nominal as to be insignificant. Don't worry about it. It will be fine. Even if you added a whole litre, i would still be relatively unconcerned although at that point you might want to have the oil serviced a couple thousand miles ahead of schedual.
