I've seen an increasing trend of black or body-colored rims.

Assuming one has a black car, what type of rims looks best?

 

A black car with all black wheels is nice and black wheels with polished lips looks great.

Black cars look good with polished/chrome wheels.

Light colored cars look good with black wheels (and polished lips).

Medium colored cars can go either way.

I like contrast.

If you decide to go the lusterous route, then choose Hi-Polished, its a cleaner shine. I used to have chrome, I love the toned down "bling" of my polished wheels. They sort of glow rather than BLING!

If you're going for 19" wheels, you might as well go the high polish route. I have HRE 19" 540R's that are in that finish and they do look good, even though I wanted, originally, to do the black face/polished lip wheels but these were available for immidiate purchase so, being the impulse buyer that I am, I went for it. They're a *itch to clean but when they are, my basalt black turbo looks great.

 

I figured that I shoudl throw in my $.02 as I happen to have the black-on-black combination.
