I am on my 3rd MAF this season... is there a solution?... I am on Proto Tune, can I easily just replace MAF and get Todd to adjust program accordingly?

Yep, all you need is the proto Y pipe with the Ford MAF, hook it up, get Todd' tune and bammmm....there you have it. I had my share of blown MAF's in the good old days

The GIAC Hitachi MAF/software conversion is the way to go. Durable hardware and reputable software.

And for just below 600 (at the crank) is there any better alternative than OE Bosch (P#996.606.124.00) with out re-tune.....if you are not near Todd, or any tuner.

TIA

Sorry about this dumb question but how do you know when your MAF is blown?

Thanks,
Paul

Measure voltage at pin III/23 and ground, switch on ignition it should read .9-1.1V. Then start the engine and it should read ~1.4V or you will need the Durametric software, a PST2 or PIWIS tester to read the air flow over the MAF at idle and at 2500 RPM.

Typically you will get ABS/PSM lights as well...

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I've been getting the ABS/PSM lights intermittently.

Todd has it, Hitachi one. I just ordered one for my blown oe maf. My oe Maf worked fine in EVOM intake for 2 mos. After put in Tial A28, maf was blown in 2 minute driving. It was on only minimum boost also, .2-.3 bar. Still think it was crazy to blow maf at very light load of A28. Why it did not blow maf at full load of stock turbo?
