Is My Car a Lemon...Advice Please
My car is a 2003 6-speed 996tt X50 for reference....It has just about 7300 miles on it, and is about 8-9 months old
So anyway, I'll get to the point....
So far it has been in the shop 6 times for a sticking transmission that they have just fixed after 4 months of on again, off again trys. That is the major problem, which now that it is fixed I am happy...just hoping it doesn't reoccur again.
The Shifter cable broke, the cheap plastic piece that breaks for other people, but it was a hassle to have to fix
And tonight the Radio just stopped working...no volume, its on, but no sound, I tryed playing with it and nothing...I don't know if that has happened to anyone else.
I may just be being **** about stuff, but I don't think that I should have this many problems. If it seems normal to anyone please let me know,
I am seriously considering pursuing the lemon law for my car. I have no experience lemoning a car, if anyone thinks I should, and knows what I have to do also please let me know.
I am just starting to become a little fed up with problems, especially one that took about a cumalitive of 40 days in the shop to fix. I just think of all these little things of signs of what may be to come yet.
Thanks for listening to my rant.

Kudos for putting 7300 miles on your car in just a few months. Contact a attorney that specalizes in cases such as yours and you should have a case. The great part is that Porsche will have to buy your car back for what you paid plus taxes and intrest if you have the car financed. I bet they care going to loose a pretty sum on an 03 7300 mile X50!!!!!

First... let me say that I am not an attorney... nor do I play one on TV... caveat emptor and all that rubbish...
I have had two lemon vehicles here in the state of Arizona and won both cases... both cases were turned down by two of the largest lemon law firms in the state. I suspect that firms that specialize in lemon law claims look ONLY for the low hanging fruit and if they have to work for their money; they'll pass.
If you do contact an attorney and they decline the case... don't give up. Just process it yourself and if you don't mind a bit of a pain in the butt (bigger in some states than others), I'd say you likely have a good chance of winning (by Arizona's laws anyway).
You will find MANY resources on the web... I did all my case research and even learned how to file a lawsuit online. In one of my cases... when I threatened to file, the automaker (Lexus) just GAVE me a brand new replacement (two years newer) with all the options I wanted. In the second case; Nissan... I ended up having to fight tooth and nail... suffer through some bad faith negotiations... and finally file suit. After I filed... they gave in.
Nissan purchased the vehicle back, gave me everything I ever paid in towards the vehicle plus some cash.
It may be a long road... and I've had an easy case and a difficult one... but I can tell you; it was damn well worth it. If you think logically, have the paperwork to support your claims, don't mind jumping through all the hoops such as mandatory arbitration and some small stacks of paperwork... your outcome may be positive.
I don't know what state you live in... but you should start by checking out your state's lemon laws... good luck!
Kind Regards,
Joe West

I would suggest that you check out the particular laws in your state. I called the Department of Transportation and asked them about Lemon Law in my state. They mailed me the process in writing; it was easy to follow. I simply followed the process in the document and GM fought me all the way. Part of the process in my state is an arbitration hearing conducted by the Better Business Bureau. GM had their attorney argue their case by phone; I was there in person. GM had to purchase the car back. In my state, you do not get all your money back plus interest paid etc. You get a percentage of your investment back depending on the mileage on your car at the time the problem starts…

mercedes gave me a new SL600.
in CA, after a certain number of days in the shop, which i cant remember but maybe it was 30 days in a year, the car is automatically lemoned out. i had no fight, they just offered me a new car or cash if i signed a no suit agreement. try talking with you PCNA rep first. In SCA that's Corbet Head.

I gather, then, that all is now working but the radio? There is a "known problem" with the radio, and the PCNA solution is to replace the amplifier (not the radio). Your dealer should have a bulletin. I have a radio problem too - if the radio is off when I turn the engine off, it often (not always) will not produce sound when I turn it on after starting the engine. Is this the problem you are having? A new amplifier did not solve my problem. I am getting a new radio tomorrow, and will see if that works. Good luck.

Went to go to the dealership started my car, and the radio worked...so I shut it down, and tried again, again it worked...So I am letting it go for now, so instead I spent the day detailing my car.
I would really like to thank everyone for all the help...I am going past my dealer tomorrow and am going to stop in and talk to them let them know what happened, and see if they have heard of it (who knows??) if anything happens again I will pursue things further...As of right now I am enjoying my car to much to really push for something that may not happen. Thanks again everyone.

My car does the same thing. I think it has somthing to do with the factory alarm. My car has done this twice I turned the car off armed the alarm and then unlocked. Start her up and away you go.
