Roughly do the same thing I did in the last 2 years a local street racing race track.
Get a German car to dominate.
Porsche was my dream car all along, but having one of the baddest street terror in the Area of Montreal was on my mind.

I love my GT2 but these cars are not a good choice for drag racing unless you upgrade the rear axle. For road course and highway roll on (a really good highway roll on car will have turbos too big for a road course....but you can get a happy medium) they are the top of the food chain.

Guru,
Ignore these comments, just about everything he said is incorrect. If you can properly launch your S4, a 996 is a piece of cake.
Good luck and look forward to seeing your progress.

Talk to any of the guys who have built sub 10 second Porsche's....it is generally a six figure project as compared to 30 grand in a Mustang. Only one has run sub 10 w/ out breaking an axle.
Granted there is a potential sub 10 second car for sale right now (Arts' car for for 95K) but it is a rare opportunity to do it for that price.

Nice. I heard a bit about your build. I am an original owner of an 02 S4 twin gt28 VAST kit (built motor) that we made 600awhp on 103 at 27 psi. I love the B5's...great sleepers, but I just don't drive it anymore.

I actually am looking for a clean one locally, but no stress over the winter...

Jamie,
My original assertion was that it is much easier and cheaper to build a drag car from another platform. That statement is absolutely true. You claimed it was wrong. Your claim is absolutely false.
However I don't want to drag GURU's introduction down with more of your childish behavior so I will not have anymore interaction w/ you on this thread and will instead reiterate my welcome to him and express my anticipation of his involvement with this forum since he seems to have a lot to offer.
