Dallas listers- Credit Union of Texas Automall? Experience?
I've looked at several of their cars and have driven a few of the turbos they have for sale. I worked with DJ Magness - seems like a really nice guy. Almost all of their cars are high end off-lease. I drove the 2003 Arctic Silver they currently have for sale - not a mark anywhere on the car, and it drove great. I think they have 2 more 03 seal greys right now also - pricing seems good too.
I know there is at least one guy on here who bought an 03 turbo from them and is very happy - maybe he'll post up for you. He traded a C4S for his and has no complaints. (User name Michael-Dallas, if you want to send him a PM).

Love the car. Extremely Clean Car. Dealt with DJ Magness. I would recommend their services any day. There gave me waht I wanted for my trade in (07 Cherokee SRT-8) and evenb came down on their asking price for the Porsche.
They were timely and it really seems to be a no BS operation.
Ask me anything you want to know and I'll be happy to tell you waht I know.
Are they willing to take the car to a dealer for a PPI?
My 2nd concern would be paintwork... I'd hate to fly in and see it's had tons of paintwork.
Buying a car from out of state always seems like a bad idea, or a wasted plane ticket...

I flew to Utah to buy mine and drove it back to LA. Great roadtrip.

Had no problem in walking away from the car if it was not what I wanted, or turned out as described when I got there.
Plane ticket = cheap insurance in the long run. My $0.02
GL in whatever you decide.
That would be me.

PAULUNM - they have no problem with you getting a PPI - I didn't get that far yet, but I would definitely have that done before flying out. I would recommend RUF here in Dallas, but you could also do it at either Boardwalk Porsche or Park Place Porsche if you wanted it done at a dealer. Not sure about working out the logistics, but DJ had no problem with me getting one done if I wanted to.
Quick warning - I don't think they can offer extended warranties on the turbos they sell, even though it offers that on their site - I think the company they use excludes them. You can still get one from the dealer or RUF if you want.
BTW - a Southwest ticket from LA to Dallas is probably $100 max - don't sweat it!
Oh absolutely! I had Boardwalk Porsche do a PPI off the CPO checklist on mine. I found another user here that was interested in the same Turbo; he had an indy shop (Autoscope) do a PPI so we were able to compare notes. He passed on it primarily because the front end was resprayed (both of our PPIs indicated it). Since then, I have successfully located and contacted the previous owner of my Turbo and he confirmed that he had no bodywork or paintwork done so I suspect CU of Texas had it resprayed during their make ready. I even bought the Milltek exhaust and EVOMS headers that were on my Turbo from the previous owner, but more importantly I acquired all of his maintenance records. Alas, I digress...
RUF is another great place that is nearby for a PPI. I would have gone to them, but they could not fit me in for the day. Which turned out great for me because I ended up getting an aftermarket extended warranty from Boardwalk.
If you're looking for a cherry example, then I would opt for a 1-owner, private sale w/ low miles as there is less risk of the unknown. As the miles pile up, there is more wear'n'tear and risk for bodywork/paintwork.
Like ColoradoSilver, DJ Magness was very willing to come down on the price as there were a few maintenance items the PPI showed (scraped lip spoiler, worn rear tires, wheel alignment, 30k service) and he came very close to trade-in value for my *immaculate* C4S. I was a bit skeptical on the Turbo because of the price, but after seeing how much they sold my immaculate CPO C4S w/ 18k that I only owned for 10 mos and 3k miles, I'm thinking they are in the business of moving cars and not sitting on "inventory." During these economic times, that's a smart move, IMO.
Their building is a bank tower that they own and they are a bank. Their "sales lot" is really a parking garage so it's not like an automotive dealer or a mom'n'pop, buy here/pay here shop. Just remember to do your due diligence.
If you happen to speak to DJ, then please give him my regards. I had the Atlas Grey C4S and bought the Seal Grey Turbo from him a couple of months ago.
EDIT: I left out the entire sales transaction -- it was very pleasant. I thought I had a very pleasant when I bought my CPO C4S from Park Place Porsche, but dealing with DJ was even more pleasant. No typical sales guy tactics or pressure.

I flew to Portland Oregon to find my 2003 GT2.. Car was FLAWLESS and the drive back to San Francisco was huge fun...
You're right. They will not offer the extened warranty on a turbo car as the company excludes them. They also exclude all AMG Merc cars.
When you take the car out to test. Try to do it in the afternoon, sometime after lunch, but before rush hour. The highway that runs by directly in front of the dealer is a great freeway, but the traffic will come to a standstill during the rush hours.
