When to take action??
Purchased some 19's from someone off the pca marts web site back on Nov. 10th. Sent a postal money order and have been given the run around ever since. Says he's going through a divoroce, wheels are at the dealer ready for shipping, will go out today (dec. 2nd) bla bla bla. Still no tracking number. How many chances should I give this guy before taking action, this is the first time I've been stiffed on an internet purchase!
Upon payment, Which he received back in mid Nov. He keeps telling me they are at his buddies dealership awaiting ups pick up. I always believe the best in people and would like to think the wheels will ship soon. Just not sure what the hold up is??
Tell him that you have someone local that will pick them up from his buddies dealership, then order a UPS pickup yourself for that address (don't tell him UPS - let him believe you have a local contact). Then you will have control over the pickup time, tracking information, etc. If he is just using the "buddies dealership" as a tactic, this will reveal him.
Usually not a good sign when folks start hemming and hawing and making excuses. There's no way they could be "awaiting UPS pickup" for over a month. The problem is you're sort of at their mercy. If you get angry with them, it might make it more difficult for you to get your wheels....he has your money and the wheels, so there's a tendency to want to try to stay cordial....but at some point you've got to lay down the law. The longer it goes on, the more difficult it is to get the thing done.

Well he will have two felonies if he does not produce them. Cashing the money order will be one and since you sent it through the mail that will be the second.
I would let him know that you will be contacting the Post Master ASAP.

Where is he located, maybe somebody from 6Speed could pick up and ship. When a Buddy of mine had some Cylinder Head work done by an outfit in CA he couldn't get them to ship the head when it was finished. A friend in CA went by the shop and picked up the head and shipped it.

He's in south hampton New York. Wheels are at some "dealership" I'm told. I asked for that contact info but have not received a reply yet. Really don't want to get the postmaster involved.
this sort of thing happened to me even got a ups or fed ex tracking no. i tracked it as i remember it said awaiting package. it turned out the supplier was able yo get a real tracking by phone or e mail... as i understant it ups or fed ex would not pick it up and it was up to the shipper to take it to the shipper..... well he already had the bucks so why hurry, i did get my product after a lot of greef . a nice guy has turned into a vendor i'll not use again...
The trouble with these sorts of things is they really start out as a "civil matter"...like a breach of contract, failurre to produce goods or service etc. If he actually cashes the check and fails to produce then at some point (???) it could become a criminal matter....but you are trying to get it done long distance between two jurisdictions. Will the DA or US Attorney take a case like this? There's usually a dollar threshold and I don't believe that with the economy the way it is and staffing levels being what they are....that an agency would be willing to pursue this. That's why it's always best to try your very best to keep it on as "friendly" a level as you can. You can cajole the guy, try to make him feel guilty or whatever.....having a couple 6 Speed or Rennlist folks show up at the guys place of business is a help as long as it doesn't get out of hand....friendly persuasion if you will....tacit "suggestions" etc. I've been burned twice...both were deals with guys in Canada, and given the international jurisdictions, I just wrote it off after trying to maintain a friendly approach for quite a while...if you get nasty, it's too easy for the guy to justify a F-U response...even though he's clearly in the wrong.
Wheels have finally arrived. Note to self.. If you advertise something for sale and someone pays you.. ship the product promptly..
P.s. I have not seen the wheels yet because I had them shipped to my brother in laws place to avoid confrontation with the better half, at least untill I can come up with a good excuse as to why I needed new wheels

I have been burned twice via Canada...once the guy was an outright thief (MontrealM3Cab....he was banned from the forum) and another time I sold a pair of turbos to a very wealthy guy.
He paid me half up front and was on vacation when the turbos arrived and they were gone by the time he got back. He was worth 8 figures so the $600 we each lost was nothing to him.
I blame Canada
