TT exterior color

I would appreciate your opinion on a color combo. if you were to purchase a new TT. I know this is a very subjective topic but our dealer only has a few cars and really nothing to see but black or silver. I am leaning towards Arctic silver or Black with a black interior and small carbon package. Thanks, Rich.

In my opinion the silver/grey is way overdone. Black is nice but common. I like the Guards Red which use to be the color of choice. It now is not very common and I am obviously very biased!

I have Arctic on Black, and although common, I never find myself tired of it. Its easy to keep clean and hides those unsightly surface swirls that black can't seem to get rid of. If I could do it again I would probably go with Arctic Silver or maybe try Polar Silver....

Black is a beautiful color, when clean. It shows all the dirt. Clean it on a spring day, get it dry, and you'll already see pollen on the surface. It also tends to get hot in the sun, especially if you also have a black interior. I have black/black, and almost always use a windshield sun reflector, which helps a lot. But, black should be an easy color to match for touchup, if you stay away from the metallics. Grays don't show dirt as much. I'm not certain how much CF is in the small package. I have CF door sils, brake handle, and shift (came with the car). I added a CF/leather steering wheel. For me, that is just the right amount of CF. Any more would be too much. All the hands-on stuff, and only the hands-on, in the interior is CF. The CF sils go fairly high up the door frame - not just on the lower portion, which is not what I would have thought having seen the standard sils in the cabrion. Best to look at as many cars as you can, especially 996's, including the photos posted here and on other boards. Happy hunting!! BTW, I love my black/black tt - just pointing out some things you might want to keep in mind.

I agree completely. The Arena Red 993TT was and is a true classic. I don't think I've seen a more beautiful car. Link below is a poster with that car immortalized.

I just walked through my dealers lot and changed my color from Atlas gray to Slate, a somewhat lighter shade. Since I'm getting the ceramic yellow calipers, I was inspired by the pics of the TTcabwith deviating red stitching to go for black leather with yelow stitching, yelolw belts and yellow dials. Of course, I'll probably change my mind several times til Xmas, when the final choices have to be in.

I have an '03 in polar silver with Metropol Blue interior and like it more and more every day. I just got my GT3 seats from Gert and am having custom brackets fabricated so that the seats backs will not be so upright...' can't wait to have it all together.

If you're going to go with black, I'd suggest Basalt Black Metallic. It's just easier to take care of the flat black and it will hide most swirl marks you get in non-metallic finishes.
