Turbo Spool comparison thread

Since i was searching and didn't see one of these already and there is such a difference in all the kits out there.

please specify major mods on the car Y pipe, internal/external wastegates custom manifolds, an exhaust and intercooler type to compile the data

Lets start with 3.6liter section:
my car spools to 1.2 about 3000rpms with gt640 kit

3.8liter section(please specify if you have a stroker crank or just piston 3.8 kit)

3.6ltr - Boost Logic 1000+ Kit
It's hard to tell from looking at the graph but I'd say around 4750-5000RPM I'm at FULL spool. (This is ~1.8bar)

My car would definitely be in the 3.6L section. Best I can tell it spools around 1.5 bar at ~3800rpm. The mods are below in my sig.

It might be informative to try to compare how fast turbos respool to max boost after a shift. This will have significant bearing on how fast the car is. My car will hit max boost approx 0.6-0.8s after next gear is engaged. This info can be seen graphically on a P Box plot.

Without logging boost, it is very difficult to tell how a car is spooling. The boost gauge can mislead spool time by as much as 500 rpm.

K24madness is infamous around these parts
Exhaust and intake has a HUGH effect on spool so it would be impossible to make any true determinations without a more controlled test. If we gathered enough responses a common denominator still may be possible.

a full gt30r with a .82 set up from Proto or me is at full boost at 4K and that is confirmed by many clients... we have custom garrets that spool at 3600.. but again thats on our full set up....
my gt35rs with .82s, big Everything are at 4800 obo... but if you drop them to .63s you gain 350 rpms...
the ultimate is what rob md has.. a 3.8l with headwork, gt3 cams... crazy ICs, headers, exhaust and gt35rs with a .63... 1100rwhp and 953rwtw at 29 psi.

^^ Ditto. SOTP is a terrible way to do this. Gear you're in, starting RPM, and who knows what else (brake boost..) can skew a test. We went through this in the Supra\AEM community. We finally came up with a test using a specific gear, specific RPM, and specific log settings to get some halfway decent comparisons. We did this by bogging in like 3rd gear, flooring it, and letting the engine pull through the RPMs. Not completely like real life and without datalogging it woul dhave been pretty useless IMO, but by keeping the conditions alike and by being able to overlay graphs we could see the results pretty clearly. Make no mistake there can be HUGE differences! Timing even made a big difference, if I retarded my timing down low enough spool quickly climbed but on the dyno area under the curve suffered and the car felt mushy on the street. Boost curve looked pretty awesome though

PErhaps those of us with Durametrics could do some logging akin to what was done on the Supras with AEM? I haven't come near to mastering the Durametric software but Justinn says the new software is WAY faster. Does the Durametric capture boost or just MAF flow? This kind of data is important, it would be very nice if we had some good way of capturing it...

you can get boost if you log the boost pressure of sensor option i believe
