I've seen these and wondered how good could they be or if they even fit right. RDI is the company but every1 here seems to be in agreement that headers aren't needed.

I dont think I have ever seen a dyno graph showing any gains from headers on a 996TT.

I would be worried of cracking and having FOD go through my turbos. Not worth it IMO, stick with stockers

Does this mean that you have to weld (4) O2 bungs when you get them?

ttboost, I don't know. If so how much would that cost a person who couldn't do it themself? The headers I've seen that are from more mainstream dealers are a lot more $.

Again, no1 seems to think they are worth it on the 996T regardless of the cost. I'm thinking the gain or advantage isn't worth the $ and should be put torward mods that get more HP or better driveability.

It's not a lot of money or time to weld a couple bungs on. That doesn't scare me as much as the quality of material and the welds. Will they crack? How long after you buy them?

It's common knowledge that headers are not a necessary mod until you get to the 650-700whp level.

I can't answer how long it would take. It may last as long as you have them or you could have problems in the first 10 min when the car is at running temp? It is life isn't it, you just never really know.

Also, the 650+ whp is common for people who have been around here or know a lot about Porsche. Other cars benefit from headers at a much lower HP. I'm finding out most everything I know about cars and HP doesn't apply to my 996T. I am glad I found this place, it's been more informative then everything I read for 7 months before I got my car.

Here are my direct fit... We make them from scratch.... trust me when I say that I pay a lot more for the 6 custom header flanges then you do for this Ebay set.... you get what you pay for... 304SS alone used for the headers cost more them the actual $$$ that this is sold for ... you probably are getting some cheap SS.... seen it many times...
these are and made per order by our fabricator... same ones that are on our 1000rwhp cars...
markski

And here is what goes into making our headers... custom flanges and merge collectors...... welded inside out... ported as well... hand polished to mirror finish...

here is a stock header inside vs. ours...

these are on my car... same set up except its Vbanded and external Wgs..

Nice pics Markski! What size are your primaries?

Do your turbos come in V-band configuration or are they just offered for the GT3076/GT35 turbos?

Those are awesome looking headers. I was scared of the ebay because of the price difference between them and everything else I found. But as I searched for headers I found out I probably won't need them do to the fact I won't build a car w/ the HP needed to get the performance gain for what it cost to buy quality headers.

V bands are for the 30/35rs as an option... no point in V banding a stock turbo when you cant connect it to a k16...
I decided with 1.75" same as on my own car.. RobMds... and coreys... this is the same merge collector, flanges, etc.... just fitted for stock...
