VIVID Racing Dual Snorkel Install How To...

We recieved our new (Custom Made to our specs, after some begging, thanks to Dan at Vivid) Dual Snorkel Matt Black Air Box today.

As Promised I am doing an Installation How to.

Here is the Start of it. It is not a complex installation, but I still thought it was worth the effort to document it.

This is the URL, just paste it into your browser for the docco.

"/impconcepts.com/porscheturbodualsnorkelinstallation.htm"

I will be updating and finishing it in the next couple of days.

Please comment as you see fit, especially if there are any typos I have made so I can fix them.

Enjoy,

SWR

Any updates as to if you feel like the Car is making a bit more power, running cooler or anything you have noticed that seems different? Also, do you have pictures of the second snorkle and the way it attaches to the engine cover/hood?

Great job on this by the way.. outstanding. I will be installing mine in the next week or two, since I received it yesterday and will be installing it along with my new X-Cellerator exhaust, BMC filter, Billet DV's and GT2 "bigger intercooler" K24 tune from Tony at EPL...

I thought my How to had the photos of the mounting. It is easy, it is a simple plug an play. The only tricky bit is (if you call it tricky) is that it attaches UNDER the 2 fan bolts. I had to file a hole to fit as it was not quite perfect but for the most part it was good. I can take more photos if you like.

I ran it today. I would not say I noticed too much difference, other than peace of mind that my engine is getting lots of cold air!

But I have been adjusting my Meth injection system so i would not really notice.

Unfortunately for those who love the numbers, I am sorry but I am not into dynoing my car to see how much power I squeezed out of it. My "Seat Of the Pants" Dyno tells me this car is FAST Period! M3s, M5s and Corvettes fade away in my rear view mirror. Even when they try to chase me at 70mph starting speed. I am not worried about the actual numbers. Funny how many people do not know that the Turbo is NOT like you standard every day Porsche.

Thanks for posting. Someone said there were issues with closing the decklid. This is the same mold we use for the carbon part. Can you confirm if you have issues and provide pics?

My fit was good, there is a minor touch with the left boost hose on the left additional snorkel, but I have seen no real ill effects of it. My Engine Cover closes happily if I just drop it from about 6", I really notice no difference from stock on closing.

It also lines up well, I actually cut the foam in half and applied it, it still mates up well.

You can find the updated How To. Here, simply paste this into your browser:

Thanks, I do not notice any difference in the sound. As far as running, I am not sure I would notice that much, just the satisfaction my car is breathing a little better. But I have not done any speed or poer testig on it.
