Looking for comments/experience with this Proto/Sachs clutch kit good to 650-700whp
Looking for comments/experience with this Proto/Sachs clutch kit good to 650-700whp
the Sachs part numbers are:
disc 99611601532
pressure plate 883082752
I will be doing a clutch upgrade soon since mine is starting to slip now. I was thinking of the Clutchmasters Stage 3 or a beefier Sachs setup but really want to make sure this setup is drivable as this is my DD for now and the foreseeable future. I will be installing the GT2 slave conversion at the same time as well. And I will retain my LWFW.
So, anyone with direct experience with this disc and "752" pressure plate, as Todd K calls it?
thanks

I have experience with that PP and it will require the clutchmasters fulcrum mod to hold 650-700 HP for any length of time. If modified by CM, it will be fine.
I do not have any experience with that disc. Is it sprung or unsprung?

I am unsure on the disc - I just emailed to find out.

Thanks, but I think I want to get an unused setup.
Yes longevity is also on the wishlist! Bummer about yours slipping already. That doesn't seem right with a stage 3 at only 660hp? What are you going with now? Stage 4?

I have 30,000 hard miles on mine now and it still did not slip in the cool fall morning air at WOT, 1.32 bar - with a lot of torque on it. And it drives like stock, but with a lower engagement point - almost at the floor. My last clutch slipped after 6 months - it was installed in the winter and slipping in the cool fall morning air 6 months later. I think the modified Sachs Motorsports parts with an OEM flywheel is the ticket for a 700 level car, if you want OEM like drivability and long term reliability.

I'm not sure. I think it has to do with proper indexing of the pressure plate and disc.

I don't know - checking out my options (budget is a factor).
We always run a sprung hub with marcel springs on the lwfw setups and a non sprung hub/marcel faced disk on the dual mass setups
I am right there with ya Rich.
do it once but do it right..
