Who has a Nissan GTR as well ?
I did DE days with a fellow enthusiast who drove a brand new GTR. He eventually had a slushbox failure ($23k part) at the 3rd event, and stopped coming to the track altogether (at least PCA sponsored events that I was at.)
My observations was that it was a very fast car, but also very heavy ... it seemed to "look" heavy just going down the straights, much less the corners. The cost for fluid changes were outrageous, and the failure of the tranny was a huge bummer.

EVO Magazine and I respect them deeply for many years, say its still better than the 997 3.8 TT PDK paddle shift, in all scenarios, race track, twisty roads etc yet its half the price. Nissan is obviously making a loss on everyone it sells, buy now whilst you can, how long is the warranty ??? I'm not talking of selling my TT just buying a 5th car
I'm in the same boat... Now that prices have come down to a much more realistic number I am looking at picking up one as a new DD. It would be nice to own a car that still has a warantee.....

How much are they in the US ?? used off course

Honestly, I think there might be a few hundred threads of the GTR vs. Porsche.
I have both and l think they both bring something different to the mix. Stock to stock I think the GTR is easily the quicker of the two, and I personally much prefer the trans in the GTR to the 6 speed in my Porsche. Whatever short comings there is or has been with the GTR tranny will be worked out with stronger parts and such and before long all manufactures performance cars will have some variance of this type of tranny in their cars as an option, as clutch's and manual shifting really is becoming outdated with technology not to mention the brutal traffic in most cities. If I could only have 1 car I would still take the Porsche because I prefer its looks and the size of the Porsche suits me better as well and I just like the 911 platform. The GTR offers quality and a lot of technology and a lot of performance for the money, and if you haven't driven one you ought to as its an awesome car!
Alan, check out Felipe's (Jose's brother). He's selling his white one.
